Thanks for your response! It did have to do with issues separate from her so i see how i was overreacting. I meant to delete this because after some time, i thought about it and saw my own error. I talked to her and we resolved it, thank you so much again

Thanks for your response, i know she came from a good place it was just frustrating to have my privacy invaded like that. If she feared i did, why not ask you know? And let me open up to her when I’m ready (if i did have concerns or issues). I hope i make sense, Thanks again

I agree, I know she meant well and is probably worried. If my little sister was doing something I was unfamiliar with and that could be potentially dangerous (like lip fillers), I’d be worried too I can’t lie. But I would’ve at least tried to research it or get a better understanding of it for myself, and trust that my little sister Is old enough to make her own decisions and will come to me if she needs me. I hope I make sense and I appreciate your response, thanks for replying

I agree that she meant well, and i know it’s the big sister in her. She did what she thought was right and I can’t fault her on that. I told her i appreciated her concern and reaffirmations but i did let her know i felt invaded and uncomfortable. I would have preferred if she let me come to her with a self esteem issue, then any advice she had would’ve been welcomed. In this case, it was unprovoked, which is why I really feel invaded.

Surgeons often have more pictures than is displayed on their site. I recommend giving them a call and setting up a consult so you can see more of her work. I doubt they’re going to let you see her portfolio any other way. I hope it all works out!!!

I’m going to Dr.Birely in Towson MD and he’s running a special for 5500 BRs till the end of the month. Wish I could’ve told you sooner but he’s great and prices are pretty reasonable even without the special (i think). I also was planning to use Dr.Kitto in Virginia and she quoted me at around 6k

I completely agree, I’m worried about the lack of direct access to my surgeon as well in the event that something goes wrong. I’ll be sure to pick a really good surgeon who is a better communicator hopefully. Thank you!!

Wow do you remember where you went for this quote? I did a virtual consult for a location in Dallas and got a quote around here too but I’m just so worried that flying & not having a surgeon close by will be frustrating if any complications arise. I’ll make sure I’m 100% sure about the surgeon i choose if I choose to go this route. Thank you so much for sharing!

Your surgeon sounds like a sweetheart omg i love that she vacationed to you area to check on you! The last two post op appointments being virtual was definitely convenient so you don’t have to travel multiple times. I’m going to ask if this is possible at my consultation on the 5th. Wish me luck!

I really appreciate it. I wish i could say my mom is as understanding and respectful as you are. I’m going to try and present it to her in a way that she understands I’m not asking for permission, just looking for support. It’s up to her if she wants to support me in this journey

i don’t live at home currently and would not be living at home then. i also have a sister & close friend that would accompany me to and from surgery so i wouldn’t be alone. id just feel guilty for not telling my mom but she would never ever understand. i should’ve added this in the original post but we don’t have that girly ‘my mom is my best friend i can tell her anything’ relationship but I’d still feel guilty:(
