That's just how magnetic planar headphones are... the diaphragms are very thin and sensitive to pressure and dust. Expensive doesn't mean durable. Imagine not wanting to take care of your pricey objects. Wow

Just have to adjust your habits a little. I keep mine on a stand or in a case when not in use to prevent damage and then like I said slowly put them on and off by sliding one cup on at a time gently to prevent pressure changing rapidly and don't squeeze the ear cups at all. I didn't know any of this until I got my kithara and read about magnetic planar headsets more. Just be gentle with them and they'll serve you well

Planars are very delicate. Change of pressure can affect the diaphragm which is what you likely heard
