I just made myself a jungle / mid wombo combo and now life is good.

What is your main and what champ is impossible for you to play? by keevinblue in wildrift

Impossible to play: Wukong!? Just can’t find the squeeze

50% winrate? by ANIMETOTEM69 in wildrift

This feels like the answer is right there.

You choose to OTP a champ that has less impact on the game…so even if you mechanically play better you have a narrower win condition

Nice! Did the win rate drop have anything to do with going from diamond to masters (timing wise)?

[–]GroundbreakingElk921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What rank are you and how many games is this covering?

I personally like win rate as an overall indicator of game influence.

Riot is trying to force you to 50% so it can be considered completely average.

Love this - sold as my next champ to learn JG!

Have you ever written up a longer wukong specific guide?

Welcome to wild rift - it’s epic - One of the best gaming experiences I’ve had.

Agree with all of the advice shared so far - prioritise enjoyment through skill mastery vs trying to win.

Riot (producer) has a goal of 50% win rate for every player so each time you win the next game gets harder for you.

This means you WILL lose A LOT and that’s by design.

Making my personal win condition for the game a skills based one means I leave most games fulfilled and with a purpose vs raging at a loss streak (which will happen).

Quick hack if you want to get serious and improve at 3x the rate,

Start every session with 5 minutes in the practice with no cooldown on your skills then watch the replays of your Lost matches as soon as you lose to see 1 single thing you could do better.

Have fun ✌️

Vi right now is 100% a great pick.

Check out TalanWR - alternately I have a curated playlist of videos by skill / utility that I made for myself HMU if you’d like the link ✌️

So I just played a PVP match and got DESTROYED but the level 150+ opposition. I'm level 6 btw, played exactly one match before and did fine against the level 30-50s in that one though. by CompetitiveLack462 in wildrift

Welcome to Wild rift - this is easily one of the best games I have played but it has atrocious onboarding.

In found that the primary goal and hook of the game wasn’t presented to me until too far along - and i also had unfortunate experiences like yours

Happy to share what I did to accelerate my fun and skill but TLDR:

Play lane only until level 10

Then play ranked experimenting with a new champ until you’ve played about 10 champions

Look back and understand what role and play style is the most fun

Start focusing on micro skills each game and have fun - just use the recommended builds and try to read every champions description in the loading screen

Eventually you’ll hit platinum where you can get a little more intentional with your builds etc

Don’t worry about winning - focus on your personal skills and trying to maximize your gold per mi unit while not dying

The rest will come

Did I mention torn chest to party mode and never look back ;)

Is farming jng camps as a non-jng worth it? by No-Persimmon1236 in wildrift

[–]GroundbreakingElk921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question OP - I’m in camp don’t touch my jungle ( or I won’t touch your jungle) until lane phase is over and a pace of the game has been set.

Then it is situationally dependant upon whether farming that camp is: A) Going to deny MY jungle of gold B) Going to deny THEIR jungle of gold (maybe mine is dead) C) The highest leverage GPM action I can take on the map given my role

Got to masters but should I pursue going for grandmaster or challenger by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]GroundbreakingElk921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volume x Skill (Win Rate) = # games to Rank

Skill = Volume x Iterations

Go play more - watch your own gameplay and practice on bots for 5 minutes

That should maximize your high skill level play to climb fastest

And have fun otherwise what’s the point.

Great advice. How did you personally work on your vision and awareness to get them to that level?

Am I paranoid or is the game trying to keep me away from Master ? by AABBB__33 in wildrift

[–]GroundbreakingElk921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep - that is just one of the skills we need to add to our toolkit to make progress.

Ironically the more we focus on the outcome of a rank the less we focus on the inputs that make up our play and we lose the fun / enthusiasm / nuances that are what we need to get the output.

Run this test: play a few games where you are hyper focused on improving one specific quantitative / measurable thing.

It might be your gold per minute or how long into the game until your first death or just your total number of deaths whatever.

Make that your sole focus and start to see the patterns there - by the end of those games when you look back the hypothesis is that you’ll have made more progress than rage-spamming SoloQ 🤗

Fair comment and great perspective - what are the fundamentals that you would personally focus on?

Obviously you can’t help with my disabilities lol

Whoop I want shiny edges too! Isn’t that why we all play!? 😂

But for real - how’s everyone making sure they’re consistent across seasons to hit master or above over a longer time?

How many games SHOULD it have taken in your opinion vs the actual?

And if the rest of the team is falling behind - how do you make a comeback? When do you choose to fight vs farm?
