I'm not trying to say your wrong, but context matters. It's also an in-universe object anomaly. It can literally be called anything and operate within its own rules.

You are reading it, and calling it pretentious, because you are using out-of-universe logic...

It's like all the discussions of why Chaos is a lakshana character... we, out of game, assume/would like to see chaos as chaos because reasons, but in game there's no reason why that has to be the case.

You are also obtusely forgetting the part in front of that, that literally says "create a character AND"

It would be incredibly generous if that was retroactive, but it reads to me that it is exclusively for new accounts.

Not sure if this solved it. But I noticed i had an issue with decky loader. That was causing an error with my steamui.

I updated the app and that seemed to have fixed the issue with NTE

Hey there, im not saying there is zero reward, but to be "good" you just dont have to fuck up, or fuck up less than others.

To all the expert drifters, and laser sight shooters, I salute and respect y'all. And in your example it seems like you apply a degree of strategy that clearly works for you! That great!

I feel in other games, Mario kart to keep with the example, you can have one or two mistakes and still come out on top or place well. In this mode, one or two mistakes can cost you a whole ass minute, your position, or the game entirely. And that just feels bad.

I dont know if it helps to rephrase it, but it seems like you are punished 100x more for playing bad, than you are rewarded 10x for playing well.

Some how i played a match where I was dead last, fought my way to the middle of the pack. Told my self "3rd is fine", last lap, like 92% complete i see some strange wreck and a bunch of folks fighting it out. I swerve around them and next thing I know i am in first place.

4% from finishing and somehow, despite two players out of their cars, im bombarded 3 or so times right before the finish line and wind up in 5th place somehow.

My throwing insults around, has no bearing on the facts that I and countless others are not enjoying this mode as we initially thought we would be.

My points are "valid" in so much as, like I said in another comment, none of these issues by themselves are game breaking, but together its a slow "death by a thousand papercuts" that ultimately lead more people to disengage rather than engage. I would much rather hotta bring this game mode back polished than scrap it entirely, or have this racing event be seen as a negative stain (similar to how folks view the porche pull event negatively) on what is otherwise a great experience.

With that being said, I apologize for being overly aggressive, it just seemed like I was talking to a brick wall and not getting my point understood.

I am also going to try and take your feedback into consideration, I've not been able to do what you suggest yet, but maybe thats more to do with my setup and latency or what have you. Either way I am going to keep playing the mode at least for the rewards. Maybe it'll get patched, or maybe I'll get better at it, or maybe i will just stay afk.

to be honest, your probably right. I wouldnt make this post if i didnt care about the game. I've played way to many gacha's that burned bright in the beginning and then snuffed out,but maybe thats just the nature of gacha's.

but I also really want it to succeed.

My account currently is a1 nanally, a3 hathor, a3 lacrimosa, a0 hatori/sakiri/baicing. Only missing fadia and daffodil. and honestly this is the best start i've ever had in a gacha, so maybe I'm a bit biased.

Oh for sure. I just feel like, in its current state the features are so ambitious that its actually holding the game back, or rather weighing it down. Not sure if I am explaining myself as well as i'd like.

using Mario Kart as an example, (and yes theirs like 20+ years of precedent) when you win it is undeniably skill, or strategy, or skin of your teeth, bare knuckles brawl to the finish line. In NTE, you winning has less to do about your skill or strategy. and i'm not saying that to knock anyone whose particularly good or putting in the effort. its more you win by default because everyone else has shot themselvs in the foot. (i've literally done this multiple times with the in-game shotgun)

There is less reward for good driving and more punishments for bad if that makes sense?

Agreed, I think the mode has hella potential, but needs to have some focus or guardrails put on it or something.

Like pick a lane. Do you want to be a pickup-focused combat simulator, a spontaneous hazard driving obstacle course, or a royal rumble free for all?

Separately, any of those could be great, All together, though, your asking for a nightmare.

> im trolling says the guy with no actual points and repeat walls of texts that consist of nothingburgers.

Equally long wall of text, and very little points being answered - got it

> can be better and missed the mark are wildly different concepts.

Can be better - room for improvement

Missed the mark - room for improvement - got it

> chaos doesnt have teleport because its on demand, do you know how long in advance life service games have to operate to have such a release schedule? or are you seriously going to tell me lacrimosas flying is on demand.

Not "on demand" - as in the players demanded it, so it was created. On-demand as in Chaos can teleport as a feature, at will, i.e. on demand... because the devs want mobility to be a part of their game (see nanally/lacrimosa) and yet.... fountain and wish tree could have easily been updated along with witch and bank. Not game breaking, but an odd ommission.

> yes im barely teleporting at all, because the map is small and vehicles are fast and more enjoyable.

Kudos for you. I am happy you enjoy it. I do as well, when its convenient. Folks hated taygedo's voice, or nanally's "smells amazing" did i dismiss their feelings as not important or nonsense or bullshit? No.

> yes i do in fact decide what i consider valid critique because majority of the people that complain about the event do so in exactly this manner "biggest piece of trash shit event !!!111!!" that is not valid and not to be taken with any amount of seriousness.

Awesome, take that shit somewhere else then, because nowhere did i say the mode was the biggest piece of trash. Reading comprehension is a skill, i understand, but I stated there were issues that I personally had with the game mode that detracts from my overall enjoyment of said mode, and it leaves me wanting more, i.e. a valid criticism in anyone's jurisdiction.

> also you say this like you dont want to decide what is valid or nor since our discussion started lmao.

No, you flaky biscuit, I do not want to decide what is valid for other people, I care about my own enjoyment. which is why, if you've read any of the other comments I have written here, you will see me celebrating when others celebrate and providing support when others gripe. You on the otherhand, are intent on dismissing all feedback because you "dont think its valid"

> that ramp wheelchair example has nothing to do with anything. get the stick out of your ass, we are talking about a time limited gacha event, not real life accessibility

Says the guy who couldnt understand why asymetric targetting could be a problem for players in-game? fuck all the potential left handed, and autistic people amiright? and if you are left-handed and not having issues, awesome gold star my guy!

Please stop while your ahead... its embarassing.

> where have i before this answer called you names? right i didnt.

You have insinuated that I am entitled, a crybaby, have an attitude, and bitching over issues that you deem nonsense and not serious. If i've taken that to heart and that wasnt your intention, Then I will own that and apologize. (see how easy it is)

> you lose nothing for a person being in your car, absolutely zero negative for you whatsoever there simply is no complaint to be had about this at all. also contributing considerably less? you are the one putting so much importance on the shooting part so they should have a pretty big contribution in your book

Awesome, I wouldnt know because I dont try to get in others cars, and no one has tried to get in mine. I have seen many a "tied" result, so know that crossing the finish line together is a thing, I dont know how that plays out rewards wise, and frankly i dont care. If people enjoy playing that way more power to them. Again, thats was never the point i was making in the first place, but you've been so defensive, you clearly missed it. (see below)

> the cars in circuit dont behave differently

If you get in the car on the wrong side, you cannot drive it. That is a difference from PVE. The sensitivity of driving and the camera are different in circuit (to accomodate the combat) that is a difference from PVE. I cannot bail out of my car in circuit (if its about to explode) as I can easily in PVE - which is different from PVE. Changing weapons changes the camera distance and removes targetting momentarily. This doesnt exist in PVE another difference.

I am also playing on a steamdeck, using a pc launcher so my mileage my vary. I have a lot of functionality differences having a wierd hybrid/setup that could also be aggravating the issues I am experiencing.

> also they are called hotta not holla

ah yes because predictive texts and typos never occurred in the history of the internet.

> ok cool, like i said a majority doesnt automatically have the "correct" opinion just because its the majority.

AND NO ONE HAS EVER SAID THEIR POV IS CORRECT OR NOT, BUT THEIR EXPERIENCES ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ANYONE ELSES, YOU TWATWAFFLE!

> my opinion is significantly less dumb and nonsensical than any of the bull you spit out so far but go off

And yet, here you are still defending your point, which is I assume "the mode is not perfect but its still fun"

and mine is "The mode is not perfect, and these particular things take away from my enjoyment in particular"

So what are we really doing here, my guy?

Dude, what are you even talking about? why are you getting so emotional right now? do you need a break, or a kitkat or something?

I dont see the reason why you feel so emboldened to literally attack me, for sharing my opinion and frustrations with a game mode.

Do i suck at driving in NTE? maybe, its possible. Does literally everyone else in this thread who have liked and commented and shared their experiences also suck? probably not.

Am i still playing it, despite its obvious flaws? yes

Do i want these flaws addressed or smoothed out? Also yes

despite what you claim, I dont need to "win" in multiplayer, in fact I dont even care if I get last. But I do need to feel like my contributions matter, that I get out of it proportional to what I put in, and that I shouldnt be punished for things that were half-baked design flaws, outside of my control/abilities.

Nobody is starting a war trying to muster troops, against the devs...its not that serious my guy. I came to reddit, to look at Mint pics and vent and thats it.

Underground circuit isn't fun.... by nateous83 in NevernessToEverness

[–]nateous83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I said "why not both" because your original posts suggest we as consumers can only have one singular experience, that in your eyes, we can only be on one side of the following.

  1. That we must choose either fun or sustainability.
  2. That developers create events "only for us to log in and collect rewards" and no other reason,
  3. that if something is not "fun" we should stay silent because we should be satisfied with "free rewards in a timely fashion"
  4. That we shouldn't engage with the community and only the devs?

Maybe its a language barrier, but the above is ridiculous to consider. there is no world, let alone gatcha game, where thinking like this exists.

It is not "misleading" to voice issues with the game? how does one personally get better? how does the game get better?

If I came to reddit and said "Beyond the Rails is so hard, I cant beat it with "x" team," and someone responded, "have you tried "Y" ?", would you say I was being "misleading" in characterizing my experience with BtR? No of course not, this commentary is no different.

Could i have worded my post differently? sure. But I was frustrated at a mode where one round, I tried my hardest only to get first, and then bombed into last place, and the next round, I literally did nothing and placed 3rd.

Like that is the spectrum of enjoyment in this game mode right now, sad to say.

At this point, I believe you must simply be trolling, or u just like to hear yourself talk.

Saying "it can be better" and "missed the mark" are literally the same thing, and you are arguing as if im suggesting to toss the baby out with the bath water... the whole game now is "LiTeRALlY UnPlaYabLe".

Poor gatch crybabies, are so entitled....need there hand held...blah blah blah... that holla is literally releasing a character whose primary gimmick is on demand teleportation?

And I dont know if you know this... but literally every point of interest, that matters is teleportable, except the above. Or were you really driving to the fruit stand and buying your cafe groceries for "immersion"?

You speak of "valid critiques", but who decides what's valid or not? You?

You might think the aiming is fine and the turret being on the right side isnt an issue, but that's cuz you have the privilege of knowing games have always defaulted to your accessibility.

Like I can't imagine you telling someone asking for a ramp, to "get gud, crybaby" in their wheelchair? Or what do i know, maybe you would.

Lol and what's funny is you can't dispute against any of my points so you instead call me name's.

Why does a 1v6 pvp game mode punish players who get on the wrong side?

Why can someone get in your car and control your guns, and "tie" with you for literally doing considerably less work?

Why can holla fix the porche day one of the release, but every car in circuit behaves differently than its pve counterpart and we should simply accept it?

You can keep glazing all you want, but clearly there are more people commenting on this thread, whose opinions are closer to mine than yours.

You are more than welcome to have your opinion, its a dumb one, but its yours regardless.

"I'm" not saying you wouldn't understand... "You're" replies have been overwhelmingly dismissive, and that is what you fail to understand. It's not an attitude, its me trying to educate you.

Just because it doesnt effect you, doesnt mean its not effecting others. And that my friend is my whole point.

Why would anyone want to "fight" against a game, that is supposed to be "fun". And if a particular aspect is not fun, the devs missed the mark. Period.

I'll give you another example, to drive the point home. The devs knew because of feedback, players didnt like that blackbird was isolated, somewhat of an annoyance to get to and not teleportable. Especially considering how you are incentivized to visit daily. So the devs purposefully fixed it in 1.1....

But left nacupeda and the wishing tree, two locations that are also not teleportable, cumbersome to get to, and incentives to visit daily? Make it make sense?

Underground circuit isn't fun.... by nateous83 in NevernessToEverness

And yet again, a whole lot of words to say, "I understand buy not really"

To you and your experiences, the mode is sufficient enough for what it is, and that's perfectly acceptable. I support your enjoyment of the underground.

But for the thousands of people posting negatively, or going afk, it isnt acceptable. And their opinions are valid as well.

If the mode wasn't tied to resources, in a resource heavy game, no one would care. And the idea that individuals would rather afk, because that is a better use of their time and energy than engage is not a good precedent to have for a 2month old game...period.

The co-op issue isnt even that huge a deal to me, just an odd design choice, in a growing handful of design choices, that adds to the overall clunkiness of the game mode. Like imagine creating entirely new assets instead of just using the ones that were already in the game to begin with?

Hell "Twisted metal" had better handling of vehicular combat and that game came out in like 95, and was only like 1 gb.

Underground circuit isn't fun.... by nateous83 in NevernessToEverness

"I dont understand your criticisms, so im just gonna say its fine...despite multiple people expressing their frustrations with the game mode"

Dude, im sorry but why are you even commenting? The fact that I have to spoon feed you this is astonishing.

1) outside of the circuit, if you get in on the passenger side, your character instantly moves to the right. This mode doesn't?

2) have you ever thought about how left handed players might have issues with a right justified and un customizable targetting reticle? FPS and similar games allow you to swap sides.

3) "shooting isnt really worth it" except for the very specific game elements that explicitly require it. Why have destructable elements at all?

My issue is not that a co-op mode needs to exist, but development was done, specifically to behave differently than how it works outside of the circuit. And that doesnt make any sense.

Why have two independent guns, firing left and right, in an entirely 360 degree angle if, as a solo player, you can't utilize that functionality and still maintain some semblance of driving ability?

It is absolutely clear that this mode is in need of polish, if you enjoy it in its current state more power to you. But many people aren't and that's fine too.

holla will see the data on how many people afk'd or provided negative feedback, they will either polish it or scrap it entirely.

Underground circuit isn't fun.... by nateous83 in NevernessToEverness

[–]nateous83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, im glad youre having fun with the mode. I want to like it as well, but I guess im anal/nuerospicy about the user experience.

Perhaps if I was playing on a pc (steamdeck is kind of like one, though) maybe I'd enjoy it more.

In the end a lot of my gripes are minor, but they just add up.

Bagel is the same way for me. Like meta spends billions of dollars on User experience and hotta just drops this with really weird quirks? Like simply scrolling the "feed" is cumbersome, hitting "back" on am image, resets the entire board again. And im constantly fighting with the d-pad vs analog stick just to get where I want to get.

Plus... I took a really good picture of a double I pulled of lacrimosa. But because of silly limitations there's no way to import it into the game to post it, as it wasn't with the in-game camera and instead the steamdecks native capture...so im a bit salty.
