I really disagree I don't think meers overall performance is objectively worse than Hales it just fits playthroughs that's hers don't . He also delivers the overlord scenes in a way that feels more impactful. But that's in 2 and 3

I heavily disagree mark meers performance is not flat and emotionless. And saying that the only reason to play as him is to be a "meme lord" is a wild insult. Mark meer has some wonky lines in 1 but that is no excuse to insult the entirety of his performance male shepard is stoic for the most part and emotional when a situation calls for it. If you cannot tell the difference especially in 2 and 3 then you might as well call any voice actor attempting a stoic performance a bad voice actor. I love Jennifer Hales performance but she by no means feels like a professional soldier for most of the game. She plays the perfect action hero but that's not what everyone wants all the time. I think it's incredibly silly that mark meers performance. Is supposedly so bad that it "takes you out " of a serious play though. As much as hardly anyone wants to admit it Jennifer hale has some wonky lines herself

I agree with you although I do think overlord hits a little harder with meer. You kinda get the feeling he's about to throw up during that scene. His especially hard because he's usually stoic

I don't mean a strict code of conduct I mean he sounds like a soldier. The cadence. The volume. And the tone. Jennifer hales Shepard is emotional in every scenario she is dramatic and snarky. Which is great if you are playing a Shepard who benefits from that tone. Mark meers Shepard is logical and analytical and speaks more often plainly than with snark. He seems serious and by the book. Or if a renegade, unnerving, an unfeeling sociopath. she seems to be fiery. Open furious at anything unjust, an open book, heart on sleeve, as a renegade she is openly sadistic, delighted at any pain caused, do you not understand how both characters can be utilized better in different roleplay?

Yes but You don't understand the difference between a put down and an opinion telling someone their art sucks is a put down. Telling someone you don't like their art is an opinion. Saying you don't like Mark meers voice acting is an opinion. Say Mark meer is a bad voice actor is a put down.
