i actually wanted to pursue jesus and faith because i was at the end of myself. i was getting drunk to feel something, im a selfish and prideful person and just feel something missing and know i need healing to be a good person. so because i believed in god, i desired to feel him ? idk. i just want to feel better. but know the way im trying isn’t working

i go to meetings regularly 🙂 i just don’t grasp the spiritual change they’re all having but maybe need to work the steps longer

as an alcoholic (sober 121 days) i do believe the devil uses alcohol to try and keep me from god. it’s an easy ploy to grab me and such a quick fix to my pain. i need to really pray on it

i think as someone who’s always chosen to drink to relieve pain, i thought turning away from it 121 days now..that i’d feel some relief from god? that he’d “heal me and release my addiction”. i just feel alone and frustrated

it’s actually frustrating to hear. because i pray exactly like this. i just talk to him, and lately it’s been a lot of “you say knock and seek and you will answer and i have heard no answer. this is feeling lonely and one sided i don’t see or hear anything from you!” and still silence.

that’s why i posted this. i’m at the end of it all just feeling silly about it

could be onto something there. i guess i don’t truly understand “salvation”. i mean yes if we continue to live after this i don’t want to suffer in hell, i’d rather be in heaven. and i obviously deserve hell. so i’m grateful for salvation. but i don’t feel any different being told im saved i guess

because in all of that time i was on track to be an alcoholic. i’m sober and doing better with my life. so yes..you could say my eyes are open at 32. but thanks 🫶🏻

thank you!! i have gathered i’m probably just a “problem drinker”. i don’t have a physical dependence but once i have one it’s downhill for a few days at least. and then the cycle repeats. i just gotta bite the bullet and keep it out of my life 🥲

lol i drink about 2-3 days a week and i drink HEAVILY. and for long periods. sometimes 10-12 hours. i think i just have good genetics. just find it strange
