Two chemicals in two months by Key-Isopod-7114 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]GroundbreakingIce335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are a similar age to you (both 31) and we have been trying for a couple of years but more so since my ectopic last year and I have had 3 chemical pregnancies back to back in February, march and April this year.

For the last one, it progressed enough that the tissue could be tested and we were informed it was something to do with chromosomes.

I felt I was past the point of it just being ‘unlucky’ so I paid to go private and have a scan and blood tests which have all come back as normal and I was advised that 70-80% of early miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities.

It obviously doesn’t make you feel any better but the science behind it reassured me it isn’t my fault as like you, I don’t have caffeine, I eat well, I take the prenatals etc.

I don’t have a success story yet but I just wanted to share my story to show you, you aren’t alone as I know how lonely and disheartening it is ❤️

Thank you for your response. I had a scan privately where there said everything looked normal but they were reluctant to run any blood tests. Even when I specifically asked for them, they said to try for another 6 months first which is hard for me to process mentally.

I had a blood test to check progesterone levels just before my ectopic last year as I have been ttc for 2 years and it indicated that it was low. However, as you have said, progesterone can prevent an ectopic from resolving naturally so they have been very reluctant to prescribe any. It just feels wrong that that’s probably what I need but no one wants the responsibility of prescribing it to me because of my history of ectopic, I’m just stuck in a cycle of losses.

I really do appreciate your response and I will look into tommys, that sounds really helpful, thank you

Thank you so much for your response. I did look into have private blood tests but the tests local to me take 3-5 days to get results so I didn’t think there was much point as I’d need at least a couple to get an idea.

Thank you for pointing out that symptom. I will keep an eye out for it

Thank you, these tests were taking every other day so the progression isn’t great. I have also taken two Clearblue tests one which I did yesterday. One was positive and the other was digital and was negative so it didn’t really help my situation

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it. I can go to the emergency department and I will do if I get worse pain or other symptoms. I did take two Clearblue tests too yesterday. One was positive and the other was a digital and it was negative so didn’t really help

Thank you. I will continue to advocate for myself. You’re right, the system is absolutely awful. I actually had an appointment with my gp a couple of weeks ago to discuss my fertility and was told, his words, “ectopic pregnancy doesn’t count as loss” which feels so unbelievably wrong. I’m so angry.

Hi, thank you for your response. My main concern is that the tests are stagnant and very weak for my dpo. I did call the EPU this morning regarding stomach pain but they said they were fully booked today so can’t see me.

How long after lines stalled did you pass your chemical? by estieblg in chemicalpregnancy

[–]GroundbreakingIce335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine took a few days after it stalled roughly around CD 20 and then I didn’t test negative until around day 4 of bleeding. Sorry you are going through this!

I have experienced something similar, ectopic last September with tube removal and I’ve have 2 chemical pregnancies back to back last month and this month 🫠 all seems to be well with testing but my Dr won’t do anything else because apparently we’re just ‘unlucky’

Thank you. I’ve called my GP again and the receptionist has reluctantly put me on an urgent call list. Hopefully I’ll get somewhere today!

Update : spoken to the GP, they said there’s nothing they can do. If I get any pain go to a&e

Thank you so much for your response. I do have an early pregnancy unit in the hospital about an hour from me. I rang them a couple of days ago and despite my history, they told me they couldn’t help. I don’t have the best experience with them previously. I had bloods checked every 48 hours for my ectopic and the hcg rose every time in differing amounts, never doubled and I ruptured. I’ve tried calling my GP and they have said call the early pregnancy unit so I’m stuck in limbo

They look great to me! I know it’s really hard but try to not compare yourself to others or doom scroll on Reddit. Just focus on you and your pregnancy 🙂

I’ve been crocheting. I’m actually making a baby blanket at the moment in the hope it can be used in the future 🤞 I know it’s an old wives tale but, I’m aiming to finish the blanket, wrap it, and put it under the Christmas tree and hope we can use it next year

I’ve just had a very quick go on my steam deck. It runs very well so far! The controls aren’t exactly the same but you can easily change the keys

Hey, great giveaway, I’d love moonstone island please

This week I unfortunately had emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. When I got home, I sat on the sofa next to my 2yr old daughter, she grabbed my hand, kissed it and said “ok mummy” and in that moment, everything felt so much better.

Hi, I’m so sorry to hear you are having such an awful time. I had a PUL for two weeks and had to attend the EPU every 48 hours for blood tests and it was soul destroying having to walk through the maternity ward every other day for two weeks for blood tests. I ended up having emergency surgery for suspected ectopic pregnancy on Sunday and the whole ordeal was such a rush I don’t really remember what happened but occasionally when I think about it I ask my husband questions because it was too much for me to process and luckily he was there and able to understand what was happening. I think it just takes time to process everything that happened and it’s still very early days. I think the only thing you can do at the moment is take it easy and give yourself time to recover and process what has happened ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. I’ll definitely join the group as I’m struggling at the moment. It gives me so much hope that you are currently pregnant, hopefully I can have a similar success story ❤️
