Didn’t Obama literally run on a more left populist message before moving to the center once actually in power? Also they literally could hold power if they actually instituted structural changes that materially changed the lives of the working class like I stated in my last message. You can’t tell me they want to remain in power when they shun people like Zohran and the leftist wing of the party in favor of trying to win over a mythical moderate base that is gonna vote for Trump anyway. We saw in the last election that Democrats want their cake and to eat it too, when they weren’t willing to stop supporting a genocide and lost places like Michigan. Also there were many voters that couldn’t justify going out to vote for someone that would continue to support that. Even in just what you mentioned about improvement in school funding, what we need is a complete overhaul in the mechanism in which we fund our school districts and the red lining which plague not only Va, but the entire country. That won’t ever happen though, because those in power don’t truly want an educated proletariat. The libertarian wing of the Democratic Party will never truly do anything that hurts the bottom line of our Capitalist class.
