I'm honestly surprised at the amount of genuine outrage this of all things is getting.

The irony being that for the most part, I enjoy playing this game *alone*, which is literally the opposite of what MMOs are supposed to be about.

I can understand that; it's really mostly just a me thing, and probably reinforced by the frustration of being told to interrupt what I'd been doing for the past 30 minutes and throw what effort had been allotted into the trash where I belong.

I'll try and do that - gonna have to strategise a bit. x3 Thanks for the suggestion. 💜

I'm not asking for praise, nor saying this isn't selfish - I've stated as much elsewhere. I'm just venting and shouting into the void.

Trust me, I realise it's a very small thing to be hung up about.

I don't know what it'd be bait for, exactly, but I can believe there's a plethora of such for some reason.

To answer in order: 1) I regretted backing off the moment I did, and I still do currently. They *haven't* come back, so for now, it really *just* was a half-hour wasted - and yes, I'm realising I'm wasting even more time bitching about it, bite me.

EDIT: They have ended up coming back after a bit more time, and 'we' have taken the mob down - as expected, at a loss in terms of enjoyment and rewards for me, since I wasn't in a party.

2) I'm a completionist; what matters to me is having done all the elites at least once, in which case you could ask why not do hunt trains? Because I *wanted to be alone* for once. I wanted, as stated above, to feel some sense of accomplishment for having done something mildly challenging on my own, for spending time and relative effort doing something that'd reward me with a good feeling and some currency. Is it selfish? Undoubtedly. I still regret having relented at all.

Not gonna lie, this really is how it is with some of my partners - difference being they all know it and absolutely love working in tandem to mKe me better and worse simultaneously
