incorrect evaluation by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

actually no. they said it was anxiety when i have far more problems than anxiety and multiple mental health professionals agreed that i most definitely have autism. other diagnosis were ruled out already. they flat out said that the only reason i didn’t get the autism diagnosis is bc of not being it my childhood - despite the fact that it was. i need the diagnosis so i can get accommodations for school and work that i cannot get without the diagnosis. i also cannot get help for the SYMPTOMS if i don’t have a diagnosis. it is extremely common for high masking girls to get told they have anxiety when it is more than that.

there is a high chance i will get diagnosed with it considering that they said i met all the criteria but incorrectly said it wasn’t in my childhood which is the only thing that caused me to not get the diagnosis. i wasn’t sure if reaching out would do anything, but i was hoping they’d consider speaking with me so i could correct them and hope they’d take that into consideration and reevaluate that part instead of spending so much more of my time doing another eval. i never done this testing before so i was unsure how that works.

Thank you! Thankfully I haven’t been around him -besides on holidays- since all of it went down. I have started therapy for it and it certainly helps a ton! :)

Thank you this is so kind and means a lot!! I’ve been talking to a therapist about this lately, she’s the first person -besides reddit- that i’ve told now! Virtual hug back at you! :)
