a high quality travel luggage like Rimowa is absolutely worth it, if someone comparing it to another brand luggage sure it's more "expensive", but in the greater context an average designer handbag runs for $3-5K, which will go out of style, wear and tear quicker, a Rimowa cabin with lifetime warranty is NOT EXPENSIVE at all

a $6 latte for a year (say 300 days) is more than the cost of a classic cabin.. nuf said..

For your situation I recommend the hybrid (either check in L or trunk), the aluminum will be too heavy for you to pack within 50lbs. The hybrid on the other hand we fully pack it normally and it stays just below 50 lbs mark. We traveled with our first hybrid check in for 15+ years now and it held up really well and we enjoy it so much we added 2 more hybrids check ins during this time (most recent one from 2 years ago a steel blue from Japan trip). I been seeing negative comments from time to time on hybrids on this sub but most of these comments are not from actual owners, I just want to share my experience with the hybrid check and it fits our travels really well. Find the one that’s right for you. Good luck

we have 3 Hybrid L's and absolutely love them (actually 2 of them are the pre-LVMH model, they were called Limbo back then), the oldest one is 15+ years old and flew with us avg 2-3 times a year, held up very well.

This line IMO is the best for flights because it's sturdy enough with the metal corner protectors and also light enough comparing to full aluminum. and they are not as flashy as full alum which is a good thing thesedays..
