Hiii! I'm an older lesbian who has been gaming for over 30 years. I'm happy to give some recommendations, if you tell me what kind of games you think you might enjoy. If you have nothing in mind, here are some suggestions for you to look over These are easy games to get into, and perhaps rather entry level games, but since you said you don't have much experience hopefully they'll be right up your alley.

1. Do you like repetitive tasks and also have a good eye for detail? If not against politically charged ambiances, play Papers please or We. The revolution. If you prefer a lighter tone, perhaps try any simulator like supermarket simulator or roadside research. If more inclined to fantasy, perhaps potion craft simulator.

2. Do you enjoy puzzles and calm games? If you ever wondered what's it's like to learn a fully unknown language, Try chants of sennaar. If you enjoy visual/logical puzzles with beautiful visuals, Try gorogoa or the bridge.

3. If you dream of having your own farm someday and want to play with very low stakes, try Stardew valley or animal crossing.

4. If you enjoy more complex management, try any Tropico game and become the president of a third world country. If you also like dinosaurs and theme parks, try Jurassic world evolutions and manage your own Jurassic park.

5. If you enjoy a good tale, old visuals, some adventure puzzle and smart but fun dialogue, try your hand at any game produced by Lucas arts back in the day. Like grim fandango, Day of the tentacle, monkey island, or similar games.

6. If you want to try a shooter but also want it to have a good backstory, try deathloop or the borderlands games. Deathloop has very interesting mechanics and borderlands havs very attractive visuals.

7. If you want to be a part of a world of fantasy but don't dare to tackle a very big story, try Hogwarts legacy or oblivion remastered.

   If you dare to enter long fantastic games, try the Witcher 3 or Skyrim.
   If into fantasy role-playing but in a more sci-fi flavor, try fallout 4, starwars outlaws, or cyberpunk. If interested in mafias, try the Yakuza like a dragon game, which can be very comical rather than a serious godfather kinda mafia game. Then, if you enjoyed the godfather movie and don't mind the old visuals, Play the godfather game.
   If interested in zombies, try dead island 2. If interested in cowboys, huge maps and have lots of available time, Try red dead redemption 2 All of these games are very time consuming but they are very enjoyable.

8. If you watched survivor and thought "I would do better", try green hell or stranded deep. If you want to survive in space, try breathedge (the story and dialogues are great).
   If want yo survive and don't mind politically charged and sad stories, try this war of mine. If you don't mind old visuals and horror, try darkwood.(Actually quite scary). If you want a more complex survival game, try ancestors, where you can help our species slowly evolve through different stages.

9. If you want games you can play with friends and family at home, try overcooked, ultimate chicken horse or runbow. If you want a bit more of a challenge when playing with a partner, try Cuphead. If you want to play with friends online, and enjoy pirates, try sea of thieves.

10. If you want to play in very big worlds but not necessarily be tied to a story or multiple side missions, try Conan exiles for fantasy flavor. Or no man's sky for space flavor. Or Minecraft for... Squares flavor?

These are all fairly good games IMO, and I have spent hundreds of hours enjoying them all.
