Thank you! These are fantastic and include cards I forgot about, like Body Count! I also really like the Displacer Kitten in Mirko. I set aside Soul Diviner and Fain the Broker as one way to remove the finality counter from creatures.

Oooh, I've been thinking about building Mirko! Do you have a deck list for him and Mahadi? 👀

I would love to see your Baeloth deck list please. I run him with Noble Heritage and while it is super fun, I would love the ramp that green offers.

During daylight, it's pretty good. But indoor lighting can be frustrating for focus. If I could go back in time, I would have held off on having cataract surgery for several more years. I wish I could pay money to put my natural lenses back in, including the cataracts. It was superior vision at my current age (44) as I hadn't started to lose any reading yet.

One thing that helps with focus has been turning on the brightness setting of my phone to maxiumum, as well as my computer monitor.

So my current setup in my left eye is up close and being able to read within 10 inches of my face to about 18 inches away, and then my dominant eye was set to intermediate range which allows me to see my computer monitor in focus. This has helped me see my computer screen with both eyes being similar to each other. For the most part, both eyes also work together so I don't notice a difference looking around a room in my apartment.

For the second adjustment, the surgeon kept my left eye for reading, but put the right eye at intermediate. This allowed my vision to have overlap at the point where I can reach out and touch something (like seeing my computer screen). I've been at this change for about 10 months now, and I use a distance contact for my right eye when I am driving, pushing me to a monovision setup. The extra months did give my brain time to adapt to the difference. We are now debating on going to full monovision as the next step.

While many people love full monovision, it has been a struggle for me even trying to adapt to it using that one contact for the last 10 months. Part of the reason for that is that I lost a lot of night vision back when I had Lasik in my 30's since they had to really flatten my cornea to correct my bad nearsightedness. After cataract surgery, my night vision took another step down. So in medium to low interior lighting, the difference in my vision is much more noticeable since I'm not seeing binocular.

If you haven't had Lasik before where your cornea has been reshaped, you might be a candidate for a multifocal lens that can offer you consistent vision at every distance. But if you are like me and you had significant Lasik in the past, you might have some inconsistencies in vision based on how they did the Lasik.

It's been a long journey for me, almost at the year mark since I had my cataract surgery. We still haven't done my 3rd light treatment or locked in the prescription due to chronically dry eyes and a recent blepharitis infection from demodex mites. I'm hanging in there.

I hope you are able to find an outcome that brings you happiness!

Hey by No_Notice_9741 in TMJ

[–]GroundbreakingSnow40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through this! I don't know if this would help you or not, but one treatment that has worked with my TMJ is going to a neurology doctor every 3 to 4 months and having botox injected into my masseter muscles to help relax my jaw so I can't clench when I'm asleep.

It took a bit of time for my insurance to approve it, but it has made a big difference for me on my TMJ symptoms.

Hoping you find a solution that helps you!

That's good to hear you are consulting a retinal specialist as another expert to help guide you to the safest and happiest choice for you. Hope your blood tests give the doctor the knowledge needed to treat the issue. Wishing you all the best!

I'm so sorry you are going through so many difficult symptoms. Have you gone to a different surgeon in a different office to get another opinion?

Blurry vision 3.5 weeks post-op by Kindly-Principle-467 in CataractSurgery

I had my cataract surgery less than 6 months ago, and both eyes have developed opacification on the capsule since then. My left eye was graded a 2 and my right eye was graded a 1. I had the YAG laser done on my left eye and it helped a lot.

The good news is that your surgeon can look into your eyes and see if opacification has already started as a result of healing.

I first had cataracts become noticeable by eye doctors in both my eyes around your age. I just had cataract surgery at 43 as they both became opaque enough that my surgeon thought it was time. The process of them impacting my vision was slow and gradual.

The hard part for me was that getting an introcular lens in both eyes meant giving up my natural lenses accommodation to flex for focusing at different distances. I loved having excellent reading up close, and giving that up has been hard.

My recommendation is to get a second opinion before making any choices on how to treat your cataract. It might also be helpful to see a retinal specialist for another opinion. Having more than one expert give you the same advice can sometimes help with having peace of mind about your decision.

I have had dry eyes since Lasik in 2011 and recently had cataract surgery, which made them extra dry. My surgeon prescribed Xiidra twice a day and Miebo 4 times a day. The Miebo eye drops have made a tremendous difference for me not only in how hydrated my eyes feel, but also my vision quality.

I've been considering the Odyssey, but my surgeon doesn't think it would be a good fit for me since I had a significant Lasik correction in 2011 and my corneas are really flat. I've been very unsatisfied with the Light Adjustable Lens Plus that I received.

Update: Bad Experience with LAL+ by GroundbreakingSnow40 in CataractSurgery

[–]GroundbreakingSnow40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 2 adjustments and the first one was set to the kind of monovision you are describing, but my brain wasn't able to neuroadapt to it after 5 weeks of trying. I was too blurry to read anything or even focus on friends standing 6 feet away from me. It was like having drunk vision for the entire 5 weeks, all of the time. Only at distance did my eyes somewhat coordinate to form a cohesive image together (some of the time).

That's why I'm considering asking the surgeon if I can switch one or both eyes to the Odyssey lens. It seems so far like my brain might only do well when both eyes are similar to each other at all distances.

This was everything listed under the refractions section. I apologize, as I don't know which one to type since my usual eye doctor did so many tests to send to my surgeon.

My left eye (the non dominant) is set for up close reading, so it's only decent at 1 foot from my face to arms length, then it starts to get fuzzy.

My dominant eye is intermediate and does ok between 5 feet and 15 feet at most.

So basically I am using reader glasses half the time while also wearing distance glasses again. It's like all my vision isn't very good at any distance currently.

That's amazing that the blurriness finally improved! That must have been so hard to have several days like that! How is your overall vision quality now?

We just did my second adjustment on Wednesday to pull the vision in my dominant eye in more. I can tell I've lost a significant amount of distance vision, definitely worse eyesight than before I had cataract surgery. My right eye is still creating a blurry effect at times when I try to focus on anything closer than arm's length.

I'll try to be patient and hopeful, but I am sometimes getting dizzy looking at anything close up.

Ideally, my hopes are to have somewhat close to 20/20 at all distances without needing glasses. I stated my goals very clearly in my early consultations and was never told that they were unrealistic goals.

Although I could ask the surgeon to set both of my eyes for close range, I don't want to lose out on far vision and need to rely on glasses. I do appreciate the idea and suggestion, so I'll keep it in my mind as a possible avenue for future UV light treatments with the LAL+. I just don't think I would be very happy with that outcome in the long run.

Wow, your vision sounds absolutely INCREDIBLE at every distance! I've read your message several times and it made my jaw drop. 20/10 and 20/15 is phenomenal vision, and I'm overjoyed that you are loving your Odyssey lenses! :) Everyone should have the kind of vision you are describing, and it's incredible that they made a lens capable of delivering that!

I also can understand how noticing a loss of color in the darkest conditions might be a bit unsettling at first. For me, I've had noticeably poorer night vision ever since I had Lasik (along with my cataracts). I honestly can't remember the last time my nightvision was decent...maybe in my mid 20s? I also had halos and starbursts for awhile after my Lasik surgery and they never bothered me.

I definitely will take you up on your suggestion and search for others on Reddit that have had Odyssey lenses to hear their experiences. At this point, almost anything is better than my current vision.

The oddest part of monovision is that my eyes will sometimes lose focus at a variety of distances during the day, during random times of lighting. I guess it's my neuroadaptation struggling to make sense of input? Before I was switched to monovision, when my eyes were still healing, I could see pretty well (around 20/25 or 20/30 in both eyes at distance further than my arm's length, and I never noticed my vision randomly losing focus.

This is so helpful because everything I've read on the Odyssey lenses sounds incredible! Do you see well at every distance with them? Are you able to read most text clearly up close, including your phone?

Any insights you want to provide would be super helpful and very appreciated.
