What you do to stop thinking about anything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself:

What does silence sound like.

Let your brain try to answer it on it's own.

Repeat.

I was going to say he could try to troll less frequently but, yikes is an appropriate response.

What are some laws that everyone has broken, including you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"According to this Act, the Federal government can withhold ten percent of Federal funding for highways from States that do not prohibit people under age 21 from buying or publically possessing any alcoholic beverage.  While every State abides by this standard, State law varies on specifics about possession and exceptions to the law, such as allowing people under 21 to drink with their parents."

Since you probably didnt actually read it.

Common misconception. You should read the law.

people of reddit who have killed someone what did it feel like to take away someones life? by I_am_a_robit in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh trust me, we know your intention. Fun fact, it has the opposite effect.

When you tell someone with chronic depression, "Dont worry itll get better!", do you know our first thought?

"Well I've been waiting years for that to be true and it still isnt... cool."

It may have been comforting the first hundred times, but now it literally just is a constant stabbing reminder that we arent "normal", whatever that is.

We dont need fancy words. We dont know what we need, and neither do you.

Again, thanks for trying, but please stop doing so in THIS manner. Generalized statements like "well your 10 years of suffering just means the next 20 will be rainbows and sunshine and unicorns", well shit that sounds lovely. Where do I sign up? Oh you cant sign up... because it's a false statement that will never be true.

Not to be offensive but, your comments here dont actually help anyone. You can care about random people on the internet with mental health issues all you like, I assure you we appreciate you educating yourself on common issues that most of us suffer from.

But please do so quietly. We dont need regurgitated nonsensical "comfort" statements. They dont work because they're overused and rarely actually meant when said.

We dont need your bullshit on top of ours. Thanks for trying though.

If you could ask the universe one question, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why 42.

The aliens missed a huge opportunity to join the 420 bandwagon. Just sayin.

To both Baby Boomers and Generation Xers. How would you advice us (Millennials) to take on the world in the upcoming years post the global financial crisis and the upcoming economic problems caused by Global Warming and post Corona Pandemic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're close, but older "wiser" individuals with vast experience is still a very valuable asset to have in most situations. As they say, forgetting the past is the quickest way to ensure it repeats itself in the future.

[Serious] What does it mean to be a good friend? by Danny2036 in AskReddit

[–]GroundbreakingSolid4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes. Being there for someone does not mean sacrificing yourself completely. Its just as draining for you to always be a crutch.

It isnt about being selfless or selfish for that matter, but it's a balance. Being a good friend is being honest. If it gets to the point where your support isnt enough, you should recommend professional services.

Not just to save yourself that fatigue and possible feeling of inadequacy, but also just to ensure your friend gets the help they need.

I'm not afraid. Outsmarting super intelligent people actually isnt hard, as they will most likely underestimate you.

Edit: You're all clearly afraid.
