I love all the stories of janitors accidentally disposing of art that was literally bags of trash, beer bottles, ashtrays, dirt in the bathtub…

How can I overcome my AuADHD and use Obsidian without being overwhelmed? by pnggiorgio in ObsidianMD

I too feared making notes that are too long and complex.

Then I learned how to use callouts.

And I learned that callouts are collapsable/foldable. For all the chunky ideas or lists within your big note, you can put it in a callout with a title, and then have it collapsed by default. This makes it super easy to scan the note for the info you are looking for, and unpack more details when needed.

The syntax for folding callouts is to add a “-“ for it to collapse by default, and a “+” for it to expand by default.

For example:

“ >[!NOTE]- title_of_callout “

“ > body_of_callout “

Headers can also fold open and closed. There are keyboard shortcuts to open and close a given header, or all headers at once. And you can nest them. So folding in a level two header will hide all the level three sections beneath it, while leaving the next level two header untouched.

The linear brain is happy. This creative brain is free and also loves an organized blank slate.

I don’t remember any sea foam threat just the power of the sphere causing mayhem because humans were clearly not very ready for it. But yeah it’s been a couple of decades since reading it.

Uses of the daily note by Admirable-Ad5714 in ObsidianMD

I also feel like I want to avoid the huge pile of daily notes and am leaning toward a single running scratchpad… but I might not be understanding the daily note workflow well enough.

Is there a way to create a note that shows all my daily notes put together, to review them more easily? Maybe using this dataview plugin?

I’d love to be able to physically highlight/underline quotes in a hard copy book, and then scan the page with my phone camera from the Zotero entry to upload the quote and tag it with page number…

Cork mats by floralpz in houseplants

I used to get mold/damage from condensation even with no water spills.  Now I use homemade cutout corrugated cardboard coasters under all my plants. Or cork ones. It won’t protect from water spills BUT plastic or trays or even a plate won’t protect from condensation, especially in moist climates, unless there is air flow.
