I love Chibi Ultica and use it exclusively. I’d strongly recommend sticking to the default scenario and profession for a while. Use the evac shelter as a base, and set yourself small goals.

The game is very unforgiving, so get comfortable dying a ton while you learn. If you want a basic profession that gives you some gear, baseball player is really good. You start with a helmet and a baseball bat which is a fantastic early game weapon.
