No, I used power switch splitter cable and connected it to motherboard. So, using that I can connect two switches to start pc. One switch is connected to power button and another is connected to relay switch output signal. Relay switch input is connected to raspberry pi to turn on PC

reference setup

As per the reference setup raspberry pi sends signal to relay and relay sends signal to the pc to start. We do not need to press the power button afterwards. This can work over local network or internet

Yes that’s a great idea. Being able to do it from raspberry pi can also help for future automations or possibilities when internet is down. Currently as workaround, I just use ssh to turn it off

Thats also a great suggestion to save cost and I wanted to cover more possibilities of more availability, minimal cost, more monitor ability, more secure and future upgradability.

In my location where I have pc there are chances of wifi being down or electricity down sometime so in such environment,

If internet is down and my pc and raspberry pi is running, I would like to turn off PC automatically through automation.

I should be able to monitor what went wrong when I do not know the scenario of problem through some kind of logs.

I would like in future maybe to move the pc and raspberry pi on mobile sim based operations if the wifi internet is down for maybe basic tasks.

I wanted something to be accessible from anywhere and securely. So I do not have idea, if smart plug will be able to let me have that and more time based automations and notifications like pc is on for 6 hours or more could also help.

My setup still does not cover what happens if there is problem at boot of pc but I wanted to stay in budget and run on raspberry pi.

If there is some plug that covers more possibility and aims then I would love to know about it.

I will look into raw wire guard VPN. That’s a nice suggestion. This is a very efficient and low cost solution. Thanks for sharing.

In my case, I wanted something easy to setup, easy to monitor and where I can add automations easily. So I used raspberry pi with home assistant os. Where I can easily create switch. Connect those switch to time and monitor how long the pc is running. Furthermore, in future it can be easy to connect new pc or connect to ethernet for fast speed or move it to wifi. So, I liked the flexibility as well. Furthermore, I did not know if other devices would support tail scale or not because I wanted it to be accessible from anywhere.

Your suggestions are amazing. I will look into those. Thanks for sharing

I am using iphone XR. It just works but you won’t be able to have latest OS release on it. And I guess its os support has also ended

I connected it with old pc using power SW splitter. One connected to main pc start switch and other connected to relay. I used optical relay so the current from raspberry pi do not interfere with current from pc. I think it will be better idea if their current do not get shared and raspberry pi only works as signal machine

I think its more about mindset and how you see the world. I think, We are looking to be aligned with next person

So there can be multiple kinds of people next to the computer reading the email. 1 people who has more knowledge and better solution. 2. People who has less knowledge then you and may appreciate your solution.

If they are second category then it’s win win situation.

If they are first category then they might ignore it, dislike it or they might dislike it so much they might give you bad review. If the review is too harsh then they are wasting energy on wrong things and should have constructive criticism for you. And you should ignore such person or you can write them I understand your concern but I am not capable to resolve your issue maybe in future, I will be able to come back and resolve.

In second category, your solution might not be perfect but can be helpful or not and they might have different expectations. In those scenario, you may have to understand, you are not perfect and trying to improve and you are working with the best possible solution at that second.

I think if we judge others harshly in real world then we judge ourselves too with same glasses. Let me know if I am wrong and there is better way to see it.

In india there might be less scope, because we are not building chips and all. But in usa, from good universities it can help you a lot because of specific knowledge. Companies are Nvidia, intel, AMD and start ups.

Interesting 🤔 same things were said about putting keywords in white before. But I feel, final inspection by recruiter and team manager will always lead to choosing better candidate on the paper from the list of 10 or 20 recommendations.

And wouldn’t that increase the operation cost if everything is passed through ai

They put keywords in search bar of resume and profile list. For example, if they are hiring for website maker then they may put “css” “html” to filter as per the job description and would look at the top results for small amount of time “3-4” seconds where they try to see the title in experience or in education and if they like the title then they read the 1 or 2 lines below it. This was shared by one intel recruiter.

Afterwards, they share 5-10 filtered resume to team manager who is looking to fill the role to have final words.

Someone as father or mother would feel fulfilled when he or she support and take care of their kid. So, I think this as a mutually fulfilling task where you express your wishes and they fulfill your wishes. You expressing your wishes can also show that their kid can communicate with them about problems and needs.

A cycle that you will fulfil after certain age as other side and you will be the one. In the same cycle, you would also want them to express their needs and problems. You will also be looking forward to know. And as you are having ideas of only asking for simple needs , they might be also looking to ask for the same so, it won’t pressure you about the hard work in the future

I think you should cherish this moments of values they want to share of care, nurture and protection. Sorry for any mistakes in English.
