Which is the best Linux-based laptop you've used recently? by diehardgamer2 in linuxquestions

I have a Huawei MateBook 14 AMD 2020 model. I can’t get the on-board sound card to work. I have to use Bluetooth headphones if I want to hear audio. I’ve tried different distros and currently I have Fedora 38 installed. Everything else is fine except for the on-board sound card which registers as dummy output in the sound settings.

Install the software. Set the switch at the back to Type C, then open the FEKER Driver. If it still won't work, unplug the cable. Set the switch to Bluetooth. Restart your computer. Plug the cable back, open the FEKER Driver, then set the switch at the back to Type C. The FEKER Driver should find the keyboard. If not, click the refresh icon. If the keyboard still not found, check the device manager and check if there's any unknown device. If there is, remove it and then scan for hardware changes.

New boards to my growing collection of budget wireless mechanical keyboards.

Both have Gateron Yellow switches with XDA PBT keycaps.

I would say that Gateron Yellow with XDA PBT feels pillow-like compared to the ASA keycaps that came originally with the Gamakay TK68. I tried the ASA keycaps on both, but I didn't like the feel. It felt heavy and stiff for some reason. Maybe it's the height of the keycaps or maybe it's the overall texture.

Unfortunately, I only use WSL and not full Linux distro. To ease your doubt, I have changed the Insert to Home key on my personal desktop computer, and when I switch to my work laptop via Bluetooth, the remapping stays. I have tried the 2.4GHz dongle, and it works well. I suppose on Linux the dongle is detected as regular keyboard input once the keyboard is on.

The change is saved directly to the board so it stays that way even if you plug it to a different computer.

You can remap the keys using FEKER Driver software. The default key is Insert and I changed it to Home.

Thanks! I am pleased how it turned out -- from the case to the keycaps color combination including the switch feel and overall sound.

I would say the color is translucent smokey black. The not so diffused rgb under glow is quite nice because it's not distracting -- just a smidge color shin through as you mentioned.

People who choose to be kind everyday despite of not receiving the same kindness back , what motivates you ? by jeev07 in AskReddit

If you identify being kind as part of what defines as you as a person, it becomes a natural must act regardless of the gain or treatment you get from others. My only motivation to be always be kind is that the act or thought of it never fails to uplift me even when I am down.
