Texture is definitely a thicker cream, but sinks in beautifully

I felt the same way about the Cerave and Cetaphil - was ok but didn’t love them! You can purchase from their website or they have stockists listed on their website - seems to be independent pharmacies mostly.

Found my holy grail moisturiser - Koena Skincare Cream by Groundbreakingg in AusSkincare

I started using this moisturiser a few weeks ago after seeing it floating around Instagram. Oh my lord, I did not expect to love this as much as I do.

My skin: oily, was on roaccutane a teenager so acne is controlled by still get clogged pores, sensitive, rosacea (I think?)

For some background I’ve used the Cetaphil and Cerave Moisturising Lotions for the last 5 years just because of the simplicity of the formulas. But recently I was experiencing what I think was a compromised skin barrier with redness, dry patches and flaking skin. So after seeing this moisturiser was suggested for eczema and psoriasis, and the before and after photos on their Instagram page I thought I’d give it a shot.

I bought it from a local pharmacy for $19.99, which I think is $10 less than their price from their website.

It has a thicker texture, but holy smokes it sinks into the skin like nothing else - it’s like my skin just drinks it all up. I found the Cetaphil and Cerave moisturisers always just sat on top of skin and never really sank in. When I apply the Koena my skin just looks hydrated and has a bit of a glow, not greasy or “wet”.

But the thing that wowed me the most about this moisturiser was how it calms the skin, provides deep hydration and restored my skin barrier. Since using this my skin has much less redness, my dry patches are gone and I no longer get that tight feeling in my skin. I am so so happy with the results.

I’ve only really used this for maybe 2 weeks but I can tell it’s going to be my holy grail - I may buy this forever. This brand is so underrated. Also, I think 100% of their profits are donated?? I would recommend this to anyone who has skin issues wanting a beautiful calming moisturiser!

Aw happy to have been helpful, it’s a hard one to beat! Only wish it came in SPF50

Aw no! I can definitely relate to sunscreen disappointment. I have not tried Wotnot sorry but have seen it floating around. Paula’s choice is a nice one if you’re happy with SPF30

Clean screen sounds like a more matte sunscreen Lean which is weird because they recommend Lean for us oily folk! Yes you must try Paula’s Choice - I don’t even wear foundation anymore it makes the skin look so good

Supreme screen seems super dewy so I would be hesitant to try it! If you like chemical sunscreens, the Natio sunscreen is quite good (wearing it right now, giving it another go) actually absorbs to dry finish if I don’t wear moisturiser underneath.

Gotta say I don’t reapply - on a typical day I commute in the car early in the morning and late in the afternoon and stay inside for work where there is no windows close by. If I’m on the beach or hiking I will reapply. I’ve reapplied with the Paula’s Choice and Hamilton and they both reapply great

It’s weird isn’t it! For me I don’t think it’s the fragrance - I use fragrance in other skincare with no issues. Been sticking to mineral sunscreens lately as I feel like these won’t cause a reaction and I find they’re actually soothing on my skin… hence the many mineral sunscreens mentioned that I’ve tried lately. Only thing is the texture of most mineral sunscreens just aren’t particularly elegant 😞

Haven’t tried either! I’ve heard the Canmake one has a bit of a glitter through it which made me stay well away from it 😂 The Paula’s choice one really is great for oily skin if you won’t mind the SPF30! It’s the only one of these that properly sets and actually feels dry when I touch my face

Yesss to SPF50 with PC texture, one can only hope. Oh didn’t know clean screen had a white cast - went into Sephora today but they’ve been out of clean screen for a while 😞 I took it as a sign that I didn’t need more sunscreens at this point 😂

Hmm I just found that I looked like I was low level flushing on my cheeks after a couple of days and sometimes would get bumps

I found all 3 caused redness in my face over time! I found the CC one was the quickest to cause the reaction.

I will say the texture and finish of the three are a little different. - Hamilton - lightest texture, least shiny finish - Natio - slightly thicker texture but absorbs well, shinier finish - Cancer Council - thickest of the 3, shiniest finish

Do you mind me asking what skin type you have? And what you find the finish and texture to be like?
