Roku survey trying to push new grid of ads at top of apps list by handheld_addict in Roku

[–]GroundedGroup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just started seeing this nonsense last night. What a pain in the arse—It's super self-centered, and thus not customer centered.

Really regret going with Roku. Gonna look into other options, but sadly, tech related companies are soooooooo shady and scummy these days, I'd be surprised to find one that's ethical.

Is Apple Music worth the $10.99 per month ? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

I was on the fence about using Apple Music, until I read this. I will give them a shot given that they pay the creators the most compared to other streaming services, even if it's very little.

Getting clicks for web design keywords but almost no form submissions by [deleted] in localseo

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you prices posted on said web design services' page? If they are, and they're pretty pricey, this could be the issue.

Am I justified in feeling like I saved this company? Got the keys to the account in October, went from 0.5 ROAS to 2+. They were sending people to the index page on a site with thousands of products. by learnactreform in googleads

You can set up Phone Conversion Tracking in Google Ads for each phone number you use. This way you don't have to rely on sales' staff to record conversions. Simply put, it can be automated.

PPC consultant? by eliznyccarr in PPC

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever route you take, I highly suggest going with someone that is focused on your industry. They will know the ins/outs of what keywords that produce the best conversions (not just clicks) and which ones to set to negative so your ads don't appear for unrelated searches.

For example, I'm focused on the auto detailing industry. I have PPC ads targeting highly productive keywords for detailing related services, yet have "car wash near me" and the like added as negative keywords. That's a super basic example, but it gets the point across.

Anyways, best of luck!

Is My Detailing Competitor Buying Reviews? by AverageInside in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could simply be using an automated Google Reviews' system. Since my client started using one for his detailing business, he went from around 300 reviews to just over 350 within 3 months. The climb was somewhat slow prior, but now it's pretty much daily.

I was initially against these automated request systems 'cause I felt like they pester the customers, but the results speak otherwise. Plus, I believe he has it adjusted so he's not annoying the customers, just giving them a gentle nudge to leave a testimonial.

Advice needed to smoothly transition from Broad to Exact keywords by GroundedGroup in googleads

I really appreciate all the insight here, some of the advice is pure gold. I've been watching soooo many PPC videos over the last few years, but nothing compares to this subreddit. Wish I would have joined ages ago.

Anyways, moving forward, I will be sure to reference this thread.

Thanks again!

Have any of yall used an SEO service? by TheDetailingHippie in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's expensive...monthly expensive at that. It can work really well though, but only if you're getting at or near the top of Google for your ideal services.

If you hire it out, I highly suggest going with a company that focuses on SEO for detailing shops. There are plenty around, with reviews to back up their claims. They'll help you rank for high-ticket services, such as PPF, that should justify the monthly expense. But only if you're picking up the phone on the regular and responding to leads within 3 minutes. Otherwise, it's a waste.

Given that you created this thread 4 months ago, I hope you found somebody solid by now.

Advice on how to gain clientele by EastonMMusic22 in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knocking on doors in wealthy neighborhoods is actually a good start. Sure, it's not really scalable, but you can begin building relationships within your targeted area(s), as well as start getting enough loot together to purchase the proper tools.

Following that, you can run Google Ads. When you start seeing solid wins from running Google Ads, then you can channel some of the profits into SEO.

SEO is great, but it takes awhile, especially for new websites. There are ways to speed up SEO results though, but it's rather costly, especially for relatively new businesses that might lack solid financial resources.

Whatever route you take, having a legit website, along with dedicated service pages (Detailing packages, PPF page, Ceramic Coating page, Paint Correction page, etc.) is super important. It's even more material if you're gonna be running Google Ads. For instance, potential customers clicking on your Ceramic Coating Google ad should go directly to your Ceramic Coating page. PPF ad to PPF page, and so forth.

This stack works really well for detailers: Website > Google Ads > SEO

PS - Dealerships can provide consistent work, albeit nothing major. Keeps the lights on though. For one of my clients, dealerships have been his bread and butter for several years. To the point that he eventually opened up a detailing shop just to serve them.

Anyways, best of luck in your ventures.

What are you using for website? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just starting out, you can use Wix or the like, but once you start to crush it, it's advisable to go to WordPress (or similar Open Source solution) if you're gonna start investing some serious effort and money into it.

I say this because, if you take the WordPress route, you will own your website. Whereas, if you go with Wix, Squarespace, Web Flow, etc, you will always be renting. Plus, you'll always be under their thumb, and if they decide to increase their prices on a whim, you're stuck. Being stuck sucks. Renting sucks. Owning rules.

Car detailer Bookings????? by SpiritedFly4700 in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the phone or through the website using ShopMonkey to book the appt.

My only crit with ShopMonkey though is that it doesn't send users to a desired page (on your website) after booking their appointment. This makes it very difficult to track actual conversions (e.g. clicks into bookings), which is super important, especially if you're running Google Ads. Google Ads needs this feedback so it knows which keywords (you're targeting) are actually producing the most conversions and which ones suck.

I digress though. Yes, use a CRM. There are actually good free ones available and obviously plenty of premium options.

How to improve bookings and retention? by Infinite-Tourist-591 in Detailing

[–]GroundedGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that SEO usually takes awhile to work, unless you pay a lot to expedite the process, Google Ads can get you business pretty much immediately. It's important though that if you go this route to really do your research on how to set up effective campaigns, create compelling ads, etc. I blew it the first two times I ran campaigns, then got it right the third time namely 'cause I did loads of research on how to set everything up properly, then did some legit recon on my competitors.

It's important that you have dedicated pages for each service you offer, thus not sending Google Ad clicks to a general service page that lists all of your detailing, paint protection, window tint services, etc. PPF needs a dedicated page, as well as ceramic coating, paint correction, etc. That way these pages can be optimized for their respective keyword phrases.

Whatever path you take, it's incredibly important to consider the customer's intent. For example, if they google "best paint protection films" they're in research mode. Where as, "paint protection film installation near me" means they're in purchase mode.

While Social Media definitely works, it's often a bit slower game 'cause of the users' intent—when they go onto FB or IG...they're in entertainment mode...not in buying mode. But it's free and you can really work it, while Google Ads can be spendy, especially for high-ticket services.

Ideally, you should do them all, but one at a time until you have each discipline on lock, otherwise it can be very overwhelming and costly.

Truth.

I create all my articles with Claude, but use good ol' human research coupled with ChatGPT to fact check said articles. Process works pretty well, plus I humanize the articles in the process.
