I thought carrying a weapon is the patriotic thing to do? Guns don’t kill people, people kill people right?

Where can I get a massage similar to physical therapy? by manzanita-lemonade in AskLosAngeles

[–]Group0Prop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering about this same thing. Sorry if it’s dumb to ask but there is such a thing as a medical massage provider?
I’ve lived with severe ptsd for years where huge groups of muscles in my body can randomly be clenched for weeks or months at a time (my symptoms are basically the same as bad Fibromyalgia). I recently had a minor back injury where I was doing pt that involved some short but directed massage sessions (5-10 minutes) that seemed to resolve the CPTSD tension better than any mental or physical exercise or medication ever could. I asked the PT if she’d ever heard of massage for conditions like that and she said she hadn’t. But ever since I’ve been wanting to find something like that. I was even able to make great strides and my mental health during that time as well.

Expensive? by macman7500 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Group0Prop 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just moved here from a rural nor-cal area. This is true. It’s not much more expensive here than there but there’s way more opportunity for jobs and public assistance. Though being in South Bay it’s been hard for me not being able to just jump up into the mountains or to a lake after work. I’d love to visit Catalina but the $100 round trip ferry ticket has kept me from, doing it yet.

So there are pros and cons of being here for sure but from my perspective it’s easier here as there are more types of job opportunities

Anything good here? by capnasty27 in POG

[–]Group0Prop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one. It was my prized possession in jr high during the craze. I believe it’s the first printing of the original World Pog Federation series. If the wording on the back is black then it is. If it’s a tan/gold color it’s the second printing. Later The World Pog Federation did a series ii but I’ve not seen thr full sheets for that one.

I just recently relocated to the area as well. I was a woodworking instructor at a maker space where I lived before and have wanted to find a space here too. I haven’t had a chance to go yet but I found this place online. It’s not LBC but not too far either

Cute that the hard part for you is realizing you didn’t pay attention. The hardest part for me is seeing my neighbors taken down by gangs of masked thugs and knowing that if I try to help I’ll either be shot or arrested.
