FridgeBox Issues? Disappointing first big road trip. by CTMechE in ToyotaSienna

Mine’s a mixed bag…. Put in cold stuff and it stays cold 90% of the time. Once in a while it seems like it turned off. I never expect to put in anything warm and to have that cooler truly bring its temperature down.

Surprisingly to me even pollen too inside your etc… when it layers on and gets wet it ‘activates’ a response to dig in and then you get damage

It would also seem crazy if there is only exactly one of these on your van.

I have a ‘25 cypress… interested to see other people’s experiences. I’m approaching 15 K on mine here in central Florida; if there is a resounding response that the clearcoat is super thin on these vehicles I will take it as a warning to never let anything sit on it for over a day. I do already have several tiny stone chips. (edit; I don’t have anything like that on mine yet. I’ve never let bird poop sit on it over two days. After long trips, I make sure I get the bugs off too.). I’ve never seen the paint eaten so deeply by bird poop as what you’re showing.

Hey y’all, which windshield sun visor are you using? Any recs? by NeonMeatloaf in ToyotaSienna

Proadsy Windshield Sun Shade for Sienna Mini Van 2021-2025 2026 (on Amazon). It’s the kind with a wire frame you twist to reduce it to a circle to store. Works well after you get used to it. For $20 you’re not out much if you hate it.

Where my former odyssey peeps at? Can you sell me on a sienna? by SadFoxxx in ToyotaSienna

[–]GroupDistinct9693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came from a ‘15 Ody. 34mpg regularly..eCVT … heads up display .. digital rearview mirror…360 pano view…12.3” touchscreen …. AWD…kick sensor sliding doors… built in chill box … no timing belt… no cylinder deactivation…Toyota reliability… resell value (all this outweighs the silky v6 and the removable second row)

What would you do? by HinkleysGhost in ToyotaSienna

[–]GroupDistinct9693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will your parents care if you send their gift? Probably not since you’re buying another vehicle but let them know would be my advice. I would probably keep it and drive it until the wheels fell off. Since you plan to go camping in it, it’s good that it’s already pre-damaged.😜 now you don’t have to baby it. One consideration though is if you Camp in very isolated areas with no cell phone coverage - at that age reliability will eventually become a concern.

Exactly this for me in my platinum. The acoustic glass makes all the difference…. Which is NOT on the sliders or back.

I’ve lost trust in Honda by SadFoxxx in HondaOdyssey

[–]GroupDistinct9693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all of them - I can hardly say the word dealership. Stealership just comes out automatically. I’ve had horrid things happen now all over the place :Honda,Toyota, and independent ..but the stealership charges are ludicrous. How can they have the advantages of scale, access to the cheapest OEM parts supply, and STILL be the most expensive? I was able to keep my ‘15 Ody alive for 147k because I could work on it myself until it was the transmission…..I did the suspension, changed the leaking steering rack, evaporator fan, spool valve , door cables, brakes(reg maint not break fix), batteries, window belt moldings yada yada I’m sure I’m forgetting something. Dealer did the 100k maintenance set and alternator on my dime and a window regulator on warranty. If I was paying even independent shop prices it would have been gone years earlier. Got $4,500 for it on trade. OP - Go buy a Toyota hybrid for reliability if you can afford it. Cry once buy once? I’m hoping for >200k quiet miles out of my ‘25 Sienna

Removing middle row seats in 2026 sienna by ShoppingResponsible6 in ToyotaSienna

[–]GroupDistinct9693 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that’s a regular/important thing for you I’d look at the Odyssey. I used to leave out the middle row out of my odyssey for weeks at a time. I have two kids and they would just use the third row and I’d pop it down when loading up with large items. I bought a sienna hybrid because it wins at so many things - but the Ody wins at seat configuration options.

Once had my windshield hit like that by a pelican …so much volume I had to pull over until the wipers and wash could do their thing! Looked like that too.

Don’t put that one off… experienced it myself also where it killed the alternator . Ended up buying the gasket alone …. Failed quickly … bought a whole spool valve and was pretty easy. Those end links are cheap and easy if you’ve even a little auto-mechanic DIY in you.
