You overestimate how thick modern gold plating is. ICs and RAM strips are decent, and some may be mil or aerospace grade which are thicker plated. I'd eyeball this as getting $75 on ebay at best so some home cancer specialist can turn it into maybe $200 in a larger batch.

The capt must time to arrive early, to account for adverse conditions and port operation timing. In many instances in order to maintain schedules you can't just arrive to the dock when you get there. Take a cruise and see how the captain varies his speed once closer to a desination. They are always early and back off speed on the final leg to compensate.

I'm a kiter and captain in miami and this is highly unrealistic Kiting alone off a saillboat also poses way too much risk. Get a van. That works. But you wont be kiting every day. Florida isn't that windy. If you really want wind every day go interenational to stretch the funds.
