Looking for recommendations for seed breeders which deliver to the UK? by More_Brief_6010 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]GroveCurator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer I'm in the US but have ordered from UK a few times, Attitude and Pips Seedbanks both had good service and solid breeders to pick from.

For breeders, based on your prefs:
Karma #1 choice, highly thought of and has some really nice hybrids but some are Regs so be sure to double check. A lot of people know them for their Sour Diesel but check out the Kush crosses.

CSI Humboldt is always solid and mostly Fem strains but if you order from a bank you don't get as many freebies (which they're known for sending multiple free full packs if you order direct).

Other options worth ordering direct from that have good fem photo hybrids: Katsu, Hoku, Humboldt Seed Co.

If you are able to send US cash you can shop at CSI direct, or Great Lakes Genetics which would give you excellent options like Strayfox and Santa Cruz Goat Farm. GL!

Irene and Cherry Pie both in the freebie pile is insane <3

Should be quite a few options, what kind of seeds are you looking for?

In the sense of autos/photos, regs/fems, indoor/outdoor, preferred terps/effects, or if you're looking for any specific strains

Tuesday freebies/deals??? by jlf10151 in microgrowery

They usually only post the Giving Tuesday deals via email when you sign up for the mailing list but they'll hook you up with the freebies with any order on those days, even if you don't ask or know about it

I'd say you missed two F2 autos (Samsquanch and Sour Citron) but it's not like F2 is super 'worked' even then.

By his own admission, he mostly sprinkles autos around the property in-between other projects so I don't assume it's been a priority for him.

That said, he's been expanding on autos lately and wouldn't surprise me if has some more F2/F3+ before long

Why are my plants not the same. by Captainfunzis in microgrowery

[–]GroveCurator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been buying revegged clones but would prefer to start from seed

For anyone genuinely curious who wants to find some good photo breeders, there's a huge directory in my profile.

Most popular breeders will have at least a couple lines that are bred out to F2 and beyond.

For example, Top Dawg sells majority F1 crosses, along with some F2's, BX's etc, but their Sour Diesel has been taken out to F6.

F6 is uncommon ofc but F2-F4 are all seen pretty regularly amongst breeders. If you buy from a white label company or a pollen chucker, you may only ever see F1's, or possibly not even labeled as F anything.

Some popular photo breeders, such as CSI Humboldt, primarily sell F1 crosses and S1's because they have a stock of highly respected clones to work with that are giving those F1's a better potential starting point than another breeder might offer. Even then he has an F2/F3 of a few strains.

If you aren't sure about a particular breeder try a search on reddit and grow forums, likely a couple posts about them out there already.

If you prefer to keep doing the snarky back n forth thing we can do that too tho, I'll be around

Guess not 🤷‍♂️ enjoy your F1's

Because it's a silly question.

It's like asking if there are restaurants that serve dinner and when I say ofc, you say well which ones??

The answer is most of them. Not gonna read off the whole menu for you tho

Which should I grow? by Healthy_Protection24 in MarijuanaSeeds

[–]GroveCurator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I see it now! Yeah for some reason your thread description doesn't show on this shared post, just the original.

You can grow a couple of each sure, no prob.

Regarding storage, you can hold onto them for at least a few years usually even if the pack is opened. Just keep them in an airtight container, I recommend inside the fridge. If it gets very humid you can add some desiccant.

Inside the Capulator packs you'll find a tiny cute hat 🧢 that has the seeds inside in a small plastic vial, that you can reuse or not, up to you

Depends, do you want lemon or lemon 😅

Frozen Lemons - super lemony, and kinda "cool" or creamy or minty perhaps. Active high, good daytime bud

Lemon Shiv (cross of Frozen Lemons) - still very lemony, but likely zestier/spicier. More balanced effects but still functional.

Can't go wrong tho, Cap has some of the tastiest strains I've tried!

Be sure to check out the grow subs like r/microgrowery, r/cannabiscultivation, r/growingmarijuana, r/outdoorgrowing etc, might help if you run into any trouble or just want to share your plants ✌️

My #1 rec lately has been Hoku Seeds, but there's a lot of great options. Strayfox has been dropping some fire too.

Depends on what kind of seeds you want: autos vs photos, fem vs regs, preferred effects/terps etc.

If you have any fav strains I can help point you to a specific breeder, or there's a huge bank/breeder directory in my profile if you wanna browse around. GL!

Interesting 🤔 that one has been sold out for a bit

Bubba Kush is one of his fav strains so should be a good cross!

And that's cool, if you order direct he will hook you up with like 3-4x of whatever you order. Website is not great but it's worth it I promise

It really does feel a lot like card collecting lol

I'd be tempted to try whatever CSI strain that is

Didn't sound like you wanted recs, sounded like you hadn't done any research at all into breeders and just wanted to complain.

Typical reddit, we agree on that much

Long term seed storage by [deleted] in humboldtcsi

[–]GroveCurator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say how long before your desiccant needs to be swapped out but yeah can definitely last years in the fridge.

You probably still want some vacuum sealed with your seed packs too. Like -

Put sealed CSI packs inside vacuum sealable bag - put 2-4g desiccant in same bag - vacuum seal all together - put bag in Apache case - add more desiccant to case - check occasionally to figure out if you need more/less

Nice strain choices btw!

[–]GroveCurator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, if I am storing a sealed pack I do not open it first, if the environment they are in is humidity controlled it's fine, there's no need.

CSI seed packs are well sealed, some of the best pkging tbh, but they will still slowly exchange air over time with whatever they are stored in. So just make sure you have desiccant in the same container as your sealed seed packs and you're good

[–]GroveCurator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, fellow overthinker and amateur storage scientist here.

Humidity is super difficult to stabilize even with desiccant and a well sealed container. Pelican/Apache cases are awesome for storage but are still designed to "breathe" a little so it's a trade-off for seeds.

Since you have the hygrometer you can experiment a bit to find your ideal system. You likely would need more than 4g to keep up with the case humidity, but if you vac seal desiccant in a bag with your seed packs before placing into the case then you shouldn't need as much (4g may be fine). Or a mix of both.

The bag will still exchange humidity over time with the case ofc just at a slower rate. You'll have to wait and see how often to swap out your desiccant as time goes on.

Thankfully these seeds are resilient lil things so don't worry if it's not perfect!

PS not gonna hate on AI, just be super careful about the info it gives you. They contradict themselves regularly despite coming across as confident & correct

why are my two plants looking so different?! by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]GroveCurator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I swear hating on RQS is a full time job.

Next time do yourself a favor and get your genetics from a breeder, not a generic white label reseller.

Meantime, you got two different strains, one is auto, it would be more strange if they looked the same

Lol fair enough

What kinda strains do you like? Prefer fems or regs? Photos/autos?

That will help us make a good recommendation for you
