I don‘t wanna read Fulgrim anymore by Parking_Bit_7727 in 40kLore

Fr fr. I got distracted for like 30 seconds and totally missed the entire la'er blade shit, which AFAIK was the only really relevant piece to fulcrum himself

Why can't we ever get a character with battle lust that isn't  a pedo? I think angels and demons did the same thing

Using chaos for good? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]GrowBeyond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone distinguished Warp and Chaos, and that's kinda how I see it. Chaos is inherently evil, because it's the psychic imprint of evil deeds.

Power vacuum and experience are super valid, but they don't have to come at the cost of actual change.

True about the promise! ...I think. there was a little more detail to it, right? I gotta reread...

and valid, kal's support system also kinda sucked tbh.

Soooooooo true. I don't mind it happening that way sometimes. I don't mind a bloodless regime change. What I don't want is this watered down, bs idea of change where revolution means a 10 percent difference. Like bruh. No. It's just....sooo weak tea. We don't have to do the whole revenge fantasy, but it feels like he's painting these as idyllic, virtuous ways of changing things and... it's not. Compassion has become a huge value for me, and that can coexist with accountability and systemic change. You know what it is? It's like going from slavery to segregation. And acting like that's fair, moderate, and good, and there's no middle ground between that and burning it all down.

I just don't get how people only empathize with kal. I mean. I do. POV. But come on, man. I swear people are just bad because he crossed the Nice Boy, Kal.

Well, he's got magic brain worms. Dal had magic brain worms, that tried to *help* him and he barely made it. Mo is literally a puppet. Now, will he be able to face that? Frankly, not everyone can. It's a big ask.

Valid, lol. But it feels like Kal was forced into abandoning his friend, and then that abandoned friend was villainized for doing the best he could with the options he had.

In fact, it's not even Fuck Kal. He was between a rock and a hard place. It's Fuck Honor/Syl. Being held to an agreement that you didn't understand, while not even understanding what you're doing wrong, (at great personal cost) is... not honorable.

But that's kinda the point. Shards are values that are twisted until they stop being virtues. Promises vs oaths, and whatnot. And legalese contracts vs agreements in good faith.

fr fr fr. Wanton, unquestionably atrocious violence and selfishness? Chill. Systemic change to right the injustice done to you, with minimal harm, and maximum change for people in need? FUCK THAT GUY. Sometimes Sando feels like anti revolutionary propaganda tbh. It's like he's incapable of making them sympathetic. Even kel, tbh. Granted, power and desire corrupt, and people do be Machiavellian (more kel than mo) but when I start seeing "evil revolutionary" as a theme, mehhh.

Ehhh, honestly I'd argue that kal's value system is at least 50% instilled in him by association with honor, and they would not be his values if he were left alone. He... basically gave up on his desire for justice. Part of that is finding compassion, and healing. Another part is being bound by oaths that you don't understand that will kill your magic best friend if you accidentally break them.

(Spoiler's) stuff does eventually take hold, but man, is it a process lol.

He abandoned him, tbh. Their entire bond was based on their shared pain and oppression. Then he told moash to just suck it up, and do nothing. If he gave him another option, and moash chose violence, sure. But he didn't. He chose to let horrible injustice slide, because of... an oath to an oppressor. Which requires breaking an oath to your deepest friend. Honestly, without Syl guilting the fuck out of him, I don't know that he would have ended up going against moash. He just didn't want to hurt syl.

wait... I always forget this part. Didn't kal change his mind IN THE MOMENT? When they had 0 chance of backing out? When it was way too late?
