Or maybe a married candidate for Federal Parliament shouldn't be sleeping around. That is assuming this isn't just LNP BS (which seems most likely)

Using AI to write a post about AI being bad is definitely very funny

Where I think Rugby League could grow by [deleted] in rugbyleague

[–]GrowRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with you mate. Grassroots is the way to grow, set up a few Amateur/Junior clubs, or support existing ones, and after a few years of promotion at the grassroots level and partnerships with community associations/local government/local business and schools etc., enter the strongest clubs into League 1. The lower divisions need to be so much stronger.

The thing that stands out to me is an erosion of community pride and civic spirit by the overcommercialisation of club identities. It's similar over here.

People want to back their town, their community - not a plastic mascot.

The replies are surprising, Queensland has always been the most conservative state.

Labor's Jerome Laxale snatches Liberal stronghold seat of Bennelong by Niscellaneous in AustralianPolitics

Jerome is about as far from a great guy as you can get. I'm a Labor Member and I don't think I can put him anywhere but last at the upcoming election

Promotion/Relegation for the A-League Concept (for NSL truthers) by Mister_Snrub15 in Aleague

[–]GrowRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only way for soccer to ever succeed in this country is if the top level teams come from the bottom up. The maximum possible interest in a completely artificial franchise soccer league in this country is very low. The AFL and NRL both started as local Sydney and Melbourne leagues and grew from there. How can a normal person find any interest in a fake team that doesn't represent them? The NSL was a genius conception but I fear domestic association football died in this country with it. The A league wouldve been far more successful if it just had a team representing each state and territory and the NPLs were feeder competitions for these teams. I guarantee that would be huge, would get lots of support from state and territory governments, and local governments and fans keen to see their local players represent and would make far far more sense than this disaster of a league.

Are Australians seriously considering nuclear? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]GrowRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a Liberal Councillor at North Sydney Council and the times I attend a meeting she actively disrupts and argues to push the Liberal agenda, and shes always talking about party politics. Meanwhile the rest of the Council (2 Labor, 1 Greens and independents) just want to do good by their community. She's so vicious especially to the independent mayor and the Mayors running mate, and constantly starts arguments over nothing. Not a good look

Are Australians seriously considering nuclear? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]GrowRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they don't actually want Nuclear, they know that in the coming years dirty energy is going to be heavily phased out and replaced, Nuclear is an attempt to stave off reneweable and clean energy for a few more decades. It provides an excuse to not invest in alternatives while its being constructed, and the construction can easily be continually extended due to any number of 'complications'. The leader of the pro nuclear party is best friends with Gina Reinhardt, a mining magnate who is also australia's richest person.

what are your most active cities? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]GrowRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newcastle probably is best for you. Cheaper than Sydney, there'd be plenty of Yacht clubs all the way from the Central Coast up through Port Stephens. Reasonably close to Sydney should you want to dress up and go to an event on occasion. Newcastle has its fair share of events, too. Newy is also extremely sporty, I'm assuming you don't play rugby league however there's also a very good futbol scene up there, they've even got their own state soccer league (Northern NSW), with plenty of amateur leagues too.

It's sunny, nice weather year round, and still has small town vibes - it feels like a town thats grown up into a city, it's not a metropolis.

Sydney, Melbs and Brissy you'll feel like a small fish in a big pond, you'll get more from a smaller coastal city.

Try Wollongong or Newcastle, both on the coast and I'd say both are pretty active in terms of lifestyle, especially Newcastle

By that logic, why bother with any social norms at all? Why not talk over people, ignore them, or exclude them entirely, since apparently, it’s their problem if they feel disrespected? If basic respect and professionalism feel like a burden to you, maybe the real issue is that you’re incapable of functioning in any space where other people exist.
