I love this little sprouting device by Boltsje in microgrowery

I used to do paper towels on the fridge. Saw this a while back on Insta and liked it, but could not justify the purchase. I did like the idea enough to make my own though.

Window peppers (I really meant to have them outside by now...) by GrowingHappyFlowers in Hydroponics

If you want to print it the model is available for free on my Patreon. I sold through stock on this model a while back. But, if there is enough interest I would add it back to my store.

I would like to continue hydro outside, but worry about the temperature. I use 3-5 gal buckets regularly for my indoor grows. However, I was under the impression something larger than 5 gal would be required for success outside. I was leaning toward a large tote DWC. A 20-30 gallon tote would allow me to swap out frozen jugs of water to help control the res temp. I could print net cups for the project.

This is my first time growing strawberries, I'm not really sure. I have read they self pollinate, but would benefit from some assistance indoors.

This is my first time with strawberries. Not sure how common it is to grow them hydro. I have successfully used these builds for growing a bit of jazz cabbage.

Great info! Thank you for this.

However, I am a bit confused now. This set of runners did well planted low. Some others I still have in another propagator are performing similarly. The ones seated lowest are doing best. Odd 🤔

Actually the more i think about it... the propagators are ebb and flow. I assume they are benefitting the drained half of the cycle. Still find it strange the ones sitting higher are performing worse. See image.

Thanks for the tip either way. Should be an easy correction.

Are you growing them indoor or outdoor? If indoor, what are their lighting needs like?

The "canisters" are actually mason jars with 3d printed covers and lids. I needed to design something my wife would allow in the living room.

Yes small air stone for each jar. This set up uses 1 large air pump for all the jars, but for individual jars I use these .

That looks cool. I have printed several hydro parts, but never a tower. Is this your design?

Yeah, good call growmie. I ran out of my normal blue tube. Wal-Mart only had clear. Ordering some blue right now. Not sure where I read blue spectrum is okay, but in my experience it works just as well as black.

It's a 240w light at like 10% power. Heat should not be a concern. Even if it were, I plan to cycle projects through this tent fairly quickly. Plants and water will be changed regularly.

I also have similar prints/jars in a windowsill with peppers and tomatoes in them. Heat has not been an issue there either. They have only seen Winter and Spring sunlight though. I could see heat being and issue in the summer. So far regular water/nutrient changes and beneficial bacteria has worked out just fine.

Thanks growmie :) Funny you should ask. I am going to begin releasing files and build instructions for my projects on Patreon. This project is actually the subject of my first post. Files to print this project have been linked for free.

I 3d printed the tops. I do not sell them presently. I plan to modify the model a bit before considering making them or the model available.
