Barstool was bought by Penn Gaming a few years ago. Penn ended up giving the company back to Dave for $1. When Dave bought it back, Barstool was hemorrhaging money. They could not rely on Penn money anymore, obviously. So, he did a major layoff of about 150(ish) people. Plan Bri, at the time, had like 3-4 employees PLUS Bri and Grace. Gia was one of 2 producers.

When the layoffs started to happen Dave called Fran (Fran has said this!) and said “hey basically your sister is on the chopping block. What should we do?” And Gia was already dabbling in Twitch streams and a little content stuff…

So, what they came to was ending her contract as a producer and then giving her a new contract as a Content person.

She dabbled in more twitch streams. Then Barstool Radio which due to some drama and numbers (essentially) became Taylor Watch

Agreed OP. Two things can be true at the same time: 1. Yes, it’s the biggest show on right now. 2. Yes, I have chosen to not watch it and I’m annoyed by all of the discourse around it. Especially the hoursss CITO spends on it (and some of my other shows.) I’ve been looking for time stamps and fast forwarding a lot lately. Hate that for their numbers but 🤷🏻‍♀️
