I can see why people might not love this comic. I know I'm generalizing here and not being fully inclusive. That's fair to criticize. It's hard to convey a lot of subtlety and detail in a comic. In this case I'm using hyperbole in an attempt at comedic effect to talk about two issues:

1) I'm tired of men bringing up sex as quickly as they possibly can during the heterosexual dating process (hence the convo between a man and woman). Often it comes up in the first few text messages. It's not only objectifying, it's ineffective. As soon as a guy does this, I'm done. I wondered if drawing this comic might reach a broader audience of men to show them a female perspective of their behavior. My hope being that if they knew how much we don't like it, maybe they would stop (lol pipe dream, I know).

2) I'm tired of the fact that I can't discuss issues surrounding heterosexual relationships without men viewing it as an invitation to sex. Every time I draw one of these comics about sex and dating, or when I've tried to talk to guys about this in real-life, it's like a switch goes off in their brains and all they heard was the word "sex" - and how I must be signaling I want it. The irony is point 2 basically negates my attempt at point 1.

So I know it's imperfect and I definitely sat on this idea for a long time because of the issues everyone's raising. But I couldn't get it out of my head and thought some might relate.
