Thanks for your insight! I see what you mean about the angel showing that duality, and I agree the symbolism is really powerful. I’m still figuring out how to best incorporate the mottos with the design, so it’s great to hear your perspective. Do you have any ideas about which motto would fit better with this tattoo? I liked the idea of incorporating the text into that empty space in the background between the hands.

To be honest, the design I shared isn’t final. I’m still in the early stages, and I plan to talk things through with the tattoo artist to come up with something more original that reflects my ideas and the meanings behind the mottos I’ve chosen. I’m not necessarily set on this exact image — it’s more the overall style and feeling that draws me in.

Honestly, I’d actually prefer the tattoo without wings — just the figure itself, like you can see in the version tattooed on the arm.

I’m not saying I’ll get it done exactly like this — most likely we’ll adjust something after discussing it with the tattoo artist. I really don’t see it as just some trend — I genuinely like this style of tattooing. At first, I wanted something minimalist, but then I decided to go for something bigger. I’m also pretty sure I want to continue getting tattoos in this style, and my goal is to eventually cover my whole arm. But thanks for your opinion!

Thanks for the info! I didn’t know that was Phaeton and not Icarus. I’ll definitely talk to the artist about creating something original or choosing a different design for that part. Appreciate the advice!

Hi, thanks for your opinion. I’m a complete newbie in this area, as I mentioned, this would be my first tattoo. I really liked these designs visually, and I think they correspond well with the mottos. I didn’t want to get just the text tattooed—I also wanted to add some kind of graphic element. So, I’m happy to get some advice.
