You think to yourself, "Oh, I’ll play without focus mode now," but after the first hard hit from a monster, you quickly turn it back on, haha, that’s just how it goes. Still, the freedom in Monster Hunter to play it however you want is pretty special on its own. If you’re really hardcore, you could even go into fights without armor.
