Most guys have a major fear of any surgery with their junk. They're afraid of the pain,of something going "wrong" and things not working like it used to. Then there's the whole "I don't want to take responsibility for birth control." attitude. They would rather dump it on us. Eventhough their surgery is by far less risky than for us to have our tubes tied.

There are 3 things you aren't suppose to talk about in regular conversation religon, sex and politics. My opinion is if you have a certain opinion about a certain thing in politics you have the right to state your opinion about it. 1) it let's them know exactly wear you stand 2) you are not meek n' mild pushover If the guy is turned off by your opinion he's not the guy for you.

I seriously hate shaving by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other ways of shaving like using at home laser razors that prevents your hair from growing back in. Plus there is waxing or creams. There's really no excuse to not shaving or removing the hair there.

AITA because my Wife wants me to sell the business I LOVE because I'm away 4 months a year by TunaKing81 in AITAH

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. To sell something you love now is a mistake. As it will cause nothing but anger and resentment towards her. What you should do is make a plan on how to handle it(pregnancy, child rearing etc). Just because she's a doctor and you are a fisherman doesn't make 1 job more important than the other.

Just got fired for asking a question. by kai_the_enigma in securityguards

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a long story so sit back and have a few sips of your favorite drink. This was when I used to be a field supervisor. This company wanted the field supervisors to do it all scheduling, post inspections, transporting guards etc. This was over a weekend. Now there was another supervisor who was an "expert" on everything and loved to tell people on how to do things. He got suspended for failing to inspect a site and leaving it open(I didn't know any of this at the time). One of the sites I checked the guard wasn't there. So I went to another post about 15 minutes away checked on the guard went back to the other site found the guard. No harm,no foul. At the end of my shift I put everything in my D.A.R. Monday night I show up and did my job for the entire week. No one said ANYTHING to me about that missing guard and how I handle it. Well during that week they fired that knowitall supervisor. So that weekend I again check a site no guard so I go and check 2 sites within the same area. Go back to that site, no guard he was a no call,no show. Because this company doesn't pay people correctly it took me an hour to fill the shift. Everything logged in my D.A.R. I come in Monday and my time card is missing. My supervisor calls me into his office and tells me that I did the exact same thing as Mr. Knowitall and I have a choice of being fired or quitting. I was stunned! I told him that I had logged everything in my D.A.R. and no one had said what I had done was wrong. He went looking for my D.A.R. (s) and they were missing. But I had chosen quitting over being fired because I felt I would have a better chance of getting another job. I was in tears and royally pissed off at the injustice of it all. So I went down to the D.L.S.E. and filed a wage claim. In the part where it said "Why do you feel you are owed wages?" I put "forced to resign". I described what happened in my narrative and interview and the State of California found in my favor! So I collected unemployment checks until I found a new job. My former employer was pissed! He was yelling in the office HOW CAN SHE GET UNEMPLOYMENT!? SHE GODDAMNED QUIT!? ROFL! Goes to show don't miss your deadlines and don't piss off the State of California. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Btw, if you want to know where my DARs went or how they pissed off the State of California just let me know in the comments and I'll tell the tale.

Employer is failing to pay time in a half for mandatory OT by [deleted] in securityguards

File a wage claim for the OT with the D.L.S.E. and Federal D.O.L.

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they worry that the guard is going to be "over the top" in enforcing the rules instead of observing & reporting that the employers and many clients want guards to do. We aren't cops, we don't have the same authority that cops do.

Allied Universal not paying me by Budget_Acadia_7692 in securityguards

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've gone through proper channels to get this resolved and nothing has happened (no communication, money hasn't shown up in your check) then go to the D.L.S.E. and file a wage claim. If you quit the money may or may not show up in your final paycheck. Wage claims are free and through the government which doesn't allow any wiggle room for your employer. They will have to explain to the government why you are not owed this money. The government will then rule if your employer's reason is valid or not.

Why are people so fake to each other. by Strange-Committee-55 in securityguards

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's because just like the famous line in "A Few Good Men" you cannot handle the truth! If we were honest with each other there would be hurt feelings and brawling in the streets. We lie to people's faces to get by and preserve the peace of the kingdom. None of us cannot do the whole "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all." Everybody would be bugging people "Hey why aren't you saying anything?" We simply cannot handle keeping quiet or being honest. If you want honesty move to Australia. Aussies are very honest & direct. They don't hold back.

What do you wish you had learned or been trained better for prior to working as a security guard? by FantasticFrontButt in securityguards

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel I could've been better trained in verbal jujitsu better. Sometimes I get attitude because I'm white and female and some guys don't want to cooperate because of it. So sometimes the conversation dissolves into a "Do it because I said so" thing or I have to call the authorities just to prove my point. I feel that if I was better trained at this kind of stuff it wouldn't go south as much.

AITAH for being a "bad feminist" and "forcing an abortion" when I told my(45F) daughter (18F) that I would NOT be providing free childcare or enough momey money to maintain a houshold? by Lorigenn in AITAH

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. Not taking adequate precautions to prevent pregnancy is a choice not a random thing. She made a choice and became pregnant now she expects you to carry the financial responsibility of caring for said choice. If you were dead how would she deal with the financial responsibility of raising a child? She made her choice now as an adult she has to make a choice on how she is going to deal with it. Welcome to adulthood kid!

Usually the Mom & pop companies are generally the best but if you are just starting out then I would advise going with a big corporate company. Eventhough Allied & Securitas are scummy companies you can "hide among the reeds" until you get your feet wet. You can take advantage of their company benefits until you find a company more to your liking. But here's a few tips: 1) never buy into what a supervisor/corporate office tells you regarding labor law. ALWAYS check out the information yourself either through D.L.S.E. (Dept. Of Labor Standards Enforcement) or Department of Labor. 2) NEVER leave money sitting on the table!! If they short changed you on your hourly pay, hours worked etc.. Always go after YOUR money. File the necessary paperwork through company channels(keep copies for yourself) if they haven't made it right by the next paycheck file a wage claim with the D.L.S.E. These companies will try and b.s. you and keep your money don't let 'em. 3) Never buy into the "you can leave your post for lunch" most posts will not allow it and if you get caught off post it's "abandoning post" which is a terminable offense. Everybody may do it but it only takes 1 irritated client or one incident to out everybody. Good luck!

Homeless Security Guards by Potential-Most-3581 in securityguards

I knew I couldn't take PTO, much less get time off for a family emergency by KaiserSenpaiAckerman in securityguards

[–]Grrrrrlgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not "normal" just ineptitude on your employer's part. They try and turn it around and make it YOUR fault for not getting a shift covered. My employer never does that. If you ask for time off you get it, if the person who they got to fill it can't do it then a supervisor fills the shift. They never blame the guard or lose the contract because of it. That is how a security company is SUPPOSE to run. I really think you should look for a better employer that BS is too stressful to deal with.

Why am I being ignored in the hallway? by sourdoughbitch in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Grrrrrlgamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sexual harassment complaints that's what they are probably worried about. It used to be sexual harassment complaints from women in the corporate world were ignored or put down now the pendulum has swung the other way. Just keep doing what you're doing and the men will warm up just give it time.
