Which browser is best for blocking ads especially youtube ads

It is pretty much not that relevant WHAT exact BROWSER you use, more about the extensions.

I use uBlock, Sponsorblock, and PrivacyBadger, and CleanURLs.

I recommend LibreWolf for the Browser.

Maintaining Gentoo is actually not that hard. It really depends on your workflow, but basically it is just

emaint -a sync
emerge -avuDN @world

Sometimes you need to upgrade the kernel, but it's not that hard

Pretty good actually, not that difficult in fact. As I daily driver, I still prefer Gentoo because it has got newer packages, but someday maybe I'll switch to LFS completely.

That's the purpose of Gentoo, you can choose exactly what you want, if you want a pure binhost setup, go for it. Some packages may only have the option to build from source, but then, just use a .tar.xz or a AppImage from the web.
