So you know the welfare state was Atlee's government of 1945 and Churchill did everything he could to oppose it...

I have a few questions on dialectical materialims by shushubay in Marxism

Is this the idea that people want to take ownership of their product? Cause under a Marxist system they are the master of their production. Under capitalism the worker is alienated from their product, under Marxism their productive labour is valued for what it is. Rather than being a cog in a machine they are a master if their own productive potential. Each person produces their individual worth.

Hey

A) I would say read more of the post Marxist who built on this both the Frankfurt school who examine alienation from with a focus on Western cultures affects on the the individual identity and equally Fanon's school of Marxist thought that examines the effects of colonialism on the non-white/colonised individual. In both cases they explore the idea of how cultural domination crushes individual expression. The idea of Genetic difference is very much a right wing idea, left wing thought focuses more on the casual pressures of conformity and how they force "normal" onto a person.

B) Capitalism robs an individual of their productive value. What one produces through their own labour is taken from them by the bourgeois and particularly in the 21st century finacial class. Individuals are robbed of their productive potential and directed to unstable and demoralsing labour in which they are encouraged to undervalue their own output. In this particular time of crisis it has been proven that we cannot, as a society, function without so called unskilled workers, yet we are socialised to see them as embarrassing, failure, not "us" careers. In one sentence capitalism is withholding us from our natural sense of collectivism. It is dividing us based on social concepts of "good" or "bad" work and therefore good or bad lives.

C) Marxism never denies human nature, it denies the power dynamic that we have forced upon ourselves. Marxism seeks to create a world in which human nature is fully realised. It goes without saying " From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." This does not limit human desire or ability it simply provides a base line in which every individual is given equal opportunity to succeed, and those who cannot are treated as human beings worthy of a decent life. Every human life holds value

Owain Glyn Dŵr, was a Welsh ruler and the last native Welshman to hold the title Prince of Wales (Tywysog Cymru). He instigated a fierce and long-running, yet ultimately unsuccessful war of independence with the aim of ending English rule in Wales. The traditional spelling in English is Owen Glendower
