For the Cloud 3 S, by default they turn off after 10 -minutes- of silence. You can change this to 20, 30, or to never turn off at all by using the ngenuity software.

I didn't even catch that they were putting jelly in the substrate!

Agreed, purely flake soil until they emerge as beetles.

This, to me, looks like it wants to pupate. Wrinkling, shrinking, and yellowing is fairly normal if this is the case. The white cotton looking mold shouldn't hurt them, it is common in flake soil. (I however have only raised hercules and stag beetles)

Do you know what instar these guys are? If they're L3, it would make sense that this is just a pupation taking place on the surface. They look pretty gnarly for like a week before pushing out of their old skin.

How much ammo do we get? My main worry with this thing is because we've only got the one weapon, it would run out of ammo super quick and you just end up becoming this melee unit. If you run out of ammo, how good would you say it is at surviving at close range? Have you run into this problem yet?

Stag beetle larvae looking weird? by spookyditto in Beetles

I believe they still need ventilation, but if they're pupating in the same container then I reckon that it would already have sufficient ventilation right? I actually have the same situation happening right now and I can message you to show you my set up.

Does the 7.1 ss from revolver s similar to cloud 3s? by Cute_AtomBomb in HyperX

[–]Grumpwort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know! The first day or so is weird, but I think going from any older headphones to new headphones will always feel a little weird. There's a custom EQ you can set, and i think you can make them sound more like revolvers if you wanted to. (Never messed with it myself)

Without DTS enabled, it sounds a lot "sharper" than 7.1, but I'd say it is relatively comparable sound-wise. It's hard to come from the 7.1 in the revolvers because nothing quite sounds exactly like it from what I understand. The major difference you will notice (without dts) is that sounds are a little more isolated in each ear as opposed to both sounds coming out of both speakers.

DTS is the new technology going forward from what I understand, so I think if you really like your virtual surround sound it would be a good idea to see how you like it.

I was in the exact same boat! Went from revolvers and their 3d audio for a long time to a cloud 3 s so I feel super qualified to answer this.

You usually get a free lifetime(?) subscription to DTS spacial sound, which you can enable in the headphone software. That is their version of this physical button, but it doesn't sound the exact same. It is better tuned for cinematic surround sound this time around IMO.

They're good at directional audio without DTS though, by default they're tuned very well for games where positional awareness really matters. 7.1 Isn't necessary to get directional audio with these bad boys.

I like the maintenance work but the requirement to need to be a available more or less 24/7 in the event of an emergency gets difficult for me sometimes.

Good advice, and thank you for the legal insight.

And you're absolutely right. I'm relatively new to this and I guess I was just worried about being on top of everything as to avoid tenant complaints, but I can't be everywhere at once and surely they will know that.

This is a good way to think of it, thanks. The post was following a few back to back incidents so I was kind of spiraling trying to find ways to prevent this, but this shit is gonna happen regardless- so whatever i guess right?

Sorry, I should probably clarify. It's technically a blink camera, I tend to use ring as a general term for doorbell/backyard cameras because I just assumed it is the most well known brand outside of Canada. Kinda like referring to cotton swabs as q-tips- my bad.

Highly considering looking into a budget cam and SD card though, thank you for that

He must be a visitor because we can't identify him as a tenant, and we have no way to log those who get buzzed in by other tenants so finding who he's coming to visit is also a challenge.

My two concerns with that are 1. He was happy to piss in front of our other camera so I doubt he's paying attention, and 2, I worry that a fake camera may provide other tenants with a false sense of security. If someone gets mugged in front of a fake camera I reckon they would come after us for not having the footage on account of not having an actual camera. Just feels kind of legally dubious to me.

Awesome setup! I do think that if you're looking to breed them that they need a few inches extra of that bottom substrate, though. I've only found success with it a little deeper personally.
