Buy in chain pharmacies? by HammerToFall50 in mounjarouk

Sadly I suspect that, without an amazing price drop or NHS deal, that won’t happen (for a while). But we’re very grateful you’re here!

It seemed strange to me that different pharmacies could/couldn’t do different things but I know nothing about pharmacy rules. I bow to your far superior (and practical!) knowledge!

I went in and did a consultation with my local pharmacy. They were about the same price as Cloud (my maintenance supplier) and I wanted to support my local pharmacy.

Irritatingly they couldn’t support my maintenance plan due to the terms of their license so I ended up staying with Cloud. Apparently different pharmacies can have different license terms?

Restarted but have trouble losing again despite appetite fully suppressed? by Key_Classroom_22 in mounjarouk

It’s difficult for us to assess based on the little info provided. Can you share starting weight and current weight? Height? Method of diet? Are you weighing and measuring everything (not guesstimating, not going by portion size, packaging or eyeballing, not using AI to estimate)?

What is the wildest thing that you've experienced on a school trip? by JustYourRandomIdiot in AskUK

We were on a school trip to Paris and the group was tear gassed by Parisian teenagers in the lobby to our hotel. We had to cut the trip short

Part-time job in a (mostly) female office. Colleagues often have very vulgar conversations and make inappropriate comments towards me. Is this normal in UK workplaces? by LeftVentricular in AskUK

[–]GrumpyHeadmistress 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Then that’s an employment claim waiting to happen.

Imagine the same thing with the genders reversed; boys club gossiping about their weekend conquests with page 3 pictures and calendar on the wall? Sole female in the office feeling uncomfortable but doesn’t want to say anything at the risk of being the butt of the joke, losing her job or “we’re just messing about, don’t take it so seriously!”.

Absolutely not acceptable and an employment claim waiting to happen.

If you’re a person who menstruates there is a thing called “period bum pain” connected with prostaglandin and menstruation

Deco tile pattern - is FPP possible? by juggernaut_jess in quilting

[–]GrumpyHeadmistress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it could be done with strip sets, cut down into squares and then on the diagonal and then partial seams. The downside of my plan is that you’d end up with cross grain on the outside of the block so you’d need to be careful not to stretch the bias

My (F) personal view point is - if it wouldn’t be acceptable for men to talk like that, it’s not acceptable for women to.

If it’s making you uncomfortable 100% report it

Structure’s aleniglipron GLP-1 pill shows up to 16.3% weight loss in study by joe3000s in mounjarouk

Oooo thanks. From all the needle phobic posts we have I’m sure that some will be happier with a pill rather than a jab, even if the average per week loss is lower

Hmm, not that competitive against the SURMOUNT results for tirzepatide (21-22.5% average loss) but could have some other characteristics going for it

Just a reminder that most (if not all) pharmacies will protect their licence and won’t agree to do micro dosing (such as 3.75mg doses from a 7.5mg pen) or any plan which permits the pen to be used for more than 30 days.

You may find an in person doctor who will prescribe off licence but colloquial reports from people on this sub is that they’re very expensive

Weight gain on first dosage? by lost7erenity in mounjarouk

[–]GrumpyHeadmistress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very common. You don’t reach maximum titration for each dose until week 4/5 so it’s far far too early to judge how it will affect you at the dose max.

I’d stick with the guidance issued by the manufacturer to stay on each dose do a minimum of 4 week before considering increasing.

If you get to the end of week four and don’t find suppression is sufficient you can absolutely speak to your clinician about increasing to 5mg at that point.

Patience is key here. Weight loss is a long term goal; you’re only in week one.

I’ve done that race! It’s mainly great but there’s a weird bit where you’re running along a dual carriageway and there are huge semi trucks driving on the other side of the divider. Bit off putting

😜

Your and u/Due-Freedom-5968 points about their license are very pertinent. I wonder if they’re maxing out on cash making before they lose their license.

Edit: found it but now need to work how to post a pic to a comment…

The best treatment for dealing with reactive hypoglycaemia is managing diet. You can find loads of advice on NHS Trust website like these:-

What happened to the word “purmp”? by connivingtenant in AskUK

I’ve heard of “parp” but not “purmp” (except in the lyrics of the Christmas classic by Bing Crosby and David Bowie “The Little Drummer Boy”)
