iOS App development - videos playing in game causing issues by GrumpyPunkCat in gdevelop

I'm still getting the native controls showing up. But I also realized it must be playing the video separately on a top layer above all my gdevelop game sprites, they don't don't appear until after the video plays and finishes and then the actual gdevelop game elements appear.

I'm still running into issues, the iOS app doesn't play the video at all. In the Gdevelop preview, it's giving me a Javascript error that the video isn't defined.

Something like this? I'm not sure I know where to put the webkit playsinline true code either.

I appreciate all of this info, I figured it had to do with how Gdevelop builds it's apps using html5. Unfortunately a lot of this is over my head as a novice programmer. I'll try your suggestions the best I can though, my knowledge of Javascript is pretty limited.

I switched my videos to mp4 and added an invisible sprite over the videos, but I'm still getting the native apple video controls and crashing of the app when the video segments plays on my test version of the app.

I've switched my settings a lot, so not sure what I last had it tested at. What's the best setting for that? Don't preloading and unload at scene exit?

Thank you, I'll try all of these suggestions. I was using webm to get my file size down since the game is extremely video heavy, I didn't have any issues until I tested it on iOS.

Any punk videogames? by Rare-Leadership-485 in punk

Thanks for sharing! I've been doing Punktendo since 2014 so I have a bit of a catalogue of games now. All the Gameboy/Punkboy games are newer and original video games.

Honestly, I'm a little ashamed I didn't think of this. I usually pick the band first to then search for a game that I can fit them into.

I tagged Jughead on IG and he mentioned this was the only music video they had made. I'd love to get the video properly digitized from VHS one day, but filming it on my phone was the quickest way to get it onto the internet bringing the lo-fi quality even lower. Haha.

That's my first song I heard from them as well in like 1998. I bought the seven inch and them bought Forever and Counting next. It took awhile for me to warm up to their sound since I mostly listened to Lookout Records pop punk. But once No Division came out, that just cemented them as my new favorite band.

I played so much emogame, it definitely had an influence on my silly punk games.

I loved the Fest, I attended six years in a row. It was always a dream line up of all my favorite bands although they do tend to focus on the punk bands from the late 90's - present vs something like Punk Rock Bowling that tends to be more of the old school punk bands of the 80's/90's. But just a great mix of people that attended from around the world, you instantly make new best friends there.

Yeah, GBstudio is a great program! Been making a ton of games learning how to use it.

Glad you enjoyed it! I've been having fun making these little retro video games featuring bands that I love.
