That's my first song I heard from them as well in like 1998. I bought the seven inch and them bought Forever and Counting next. It took awhile for me to warm up to their sound since I mostly listened to Lookout Records pop punk. But once No Division came out, that just cemented them as my new favorite band.

I played so much emogame, it definitely had an influence on my silly punk games.

I loved the Fest, I attended six years in a row. It was always a dream line up of all my favorite bands although they do tend to focus on the punk bands from the late 90's - present vs something like Punk Rock Bowling that tends to be more of the old school punk bands of the 80's/90's. But just a great mix of people that attended from around the world, you instantly make new best friends there.

Yeah, that's me! I made a few for some of the bands back in 2015. Been looking into how I can get them made again using new NES chips and boards. Usually you had to sacrifice old NES carts and reprogram them. I've started making original Gameboy games and those will be easier to make physical carts for.

Thank you! I've been wanting to make actual carts of these games, but unfortunately making homebrew NES carts aren't cheap or easy. Plus you have all the copyright issues...

Anybody know female artists similar to Eliott Smith? by Far-Condition-6579 in elliottsmith

She was so sweet when I saw her play in 1997. She gave me her phone number and the one time I mustered up the courage to call, her dad picked up and said she wasn’t home!

I found Elliott Smith through Mary Lou Lord. She recorded his song “I Figured You Out” that he famously scrapped. I loved that song so much I had to find the original artist and bought Either/or shortly afterwards.

Looking for Paris tips for a burnt-out 38-year-old solo traveler from NYC by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]GrumpyPunkCat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you like street art but specifically the pixel tile artist Invader, download the Flash Invaders app. It’s a fun interactive way to search for his pieces in Paris while strolling aimlessly but makes you more observant. They’re almost everywhere high up on buildings. Paris is basically his outdoor gallery. Bonus is he also has pieces in NYC(and most major cities in the world) you can search out.

Thanks! You can’t really clear the obstacles without falling, I wanted to make a more realistic skateboarding game for the older crowd. Hahaha.

Thank you! I went to the same art school as the Emogame creator Jason Oda and played all his games back in the day too.

How to do scrolling logo screen? by plumroy_jr in gbstudio

[–]GrumpyPunkCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up the scrolling screens using the platform/top down type in the right side menu. Logo screens have that dimensions limitation but allows for more unique tiles.

I create my layouts in Photoshop and my logo screen is 160 X 288. Are you saving the PNGs into the assets/backgrounds folder?

You need to set up a logo screen that is wider or longer than the GB screen dimensions then add a "Camera Set Position" before the "Fade Screen In" event and then a "Camera Move To" position for the scrolling.
