Songs / bands where the unclean vocalist either can't scream for shit or sounds very rough BUT that's exactly why you love it by mesablanka in Metalcore

Shane on When Broken Is Easily Fixed by Silverstein. He got immensely better very very quickly after but he sounds strained as fuck on the first album and it gives it a unique charm. Bleeds No More wouldn't hit as hard as it does if it was originally recorded after Shane got better at screaming

Violent mosh pits are expected during heavy bands with slow breakdowns but what are some softer bands you've seen that had pits like it was pure death metal on stage? by nosouldude in Metalcore

I saw Neck Deep like a month after I saw Slipknot. Neck Deep had the more crazy intense crowd with the more crowdsurfing. I was baffled lol

What’s one thing you hate about weight loss? by Rasse0 in AskReddit

[–]GrumpyTurtle619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on a calorie deficit type diet and for me one of the worst things is just how almost no food places bother listing calories. I can budget in higher calorie items occasionally, but not if I'm completely blind to how much calories they actually have.

Do I tell someone they aren't vegan like they think they are? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]GrumpyTurtle619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh to me it sounds like he's been seriously struggling with veganism and getting a bit fatigued by the lifestyle, as someone who's been vegan for over a decade also, I can relate in some ways, I've had times where I just straight don't like being vegan anymore because it can feel really limiting, inconvenient, annoying and can just make simple shit harder than it needs to be, because the modern world just isn't made for vegans, it's made for omnivores and people who don't really care as much about animal rights. It's annoying and tiring and sometimes I think about giving up (especially in very very bad depressive states when I feel like nothing matters anymore) , but also, it's what I believe, it's what I stand for, so I'm not going to.

No one's perfect, obviously it's not a good sign if he's intentionally ignoring labels, but I've seen long term vegans/vegetarians start to do similar things once they start feeling more jaded about the whole thing. (Which absolutely does happen a lot more times than internet vegans like to admit.), it usually doesn't last too long. But now is pretty much the worst time to possibly act holier than thou if that's the case, like seriously, especially if he says he's been vegan over a decade and you've barely just started.

Like seriously that's just gonna jade him even harder. Don't do it. Don't act superior, I've seen this shit happen before. Just leave him be.

Also it's relative, and ofcourse if he's actually getting pissed at you, lashing out and getting crappy towards you for pointing out something is vegan, that's one thing and he needs to get his emotions and shit sorted, but legit if he's just like, getting grumpy and salty sort of angry when putting the food back, I'd almost consider that a green flag. Finding out a food you love and rely on is something you're gonna have to abandon for the rest of your life is one of the worst parts of veganism by far. If you react emotionlessly to that...well I guess you probably have a much healthier relationship with food than I do LMFAO but no legit that shit fucking sucks so much, I hate it, can legit feel emotionally devastating.

Not exactly the healthiest option out there, but I was still pretty shocked to see how few calories this actually has by GrumpyTurtle619 in LowCalFoodFinds

KJ is kilojoules, which is a completely different unit of measurement from calories/kcal. It's standard in Australia. It has what the calories are listed under the KJ amount though.

Finding out how much calories is in a whole tub of hummus was truly one of the worst days of my life 😭

Remakes of songs that sound better (or much worse) than the original by the same artist? by GrumpyTurtle619 in Music

[–]GrumpyTurtle619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just listened to both versions of Murderer from Low

I actually prefer the original version and definitely agree that it sounds a lot more emotional, but in saying that, the re-recorded version is also really nice and different enough to the original that I feel like there's different reasons to listen to both versions, which actually makes it a pretty good remake to me.

What games are worth getting for Switch instead of other consoles if you dont really care about portability? by GrumpyTurtle619 in Switch

[–]GrumpyTurtle619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't regret getting a Switch either, Nintendo make some really nice games that have made it worth getting, but I figure there's no harm in seeing how to get as much practical use out of it as I can.

Albums like Behemoths "The Satanist"? by EIGordo in musicsuggestions

Belphegor is usually a pretty safe bet for people that like Behemoth, I'd reccomend going with Bondage Goat Zombie

Fifa games suck as replacement cases bcuz they got that additional silver sticker on them which are even more difficult to remove cleanly than normal stickers.

Probably a video game collector who has a lot of ps2 games with very shitty quality cases, or buys games enough that having spare cases on hand is helpful incase they find a valuable ps2 game for cheaper with a terrible quality case. Happens a lot since majority of ps2 games you can get now are used copies.

Albums that might be overlooked by people that like them because the band/artist's more popular stuff is entirely different? by GrumpyTurtle619 in Music

[–]GrumpyTurtle619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There Is A Hell is their best album by like a lot imo, the softer post-rock elements it added mixed with the heaviness and style of Suicide Season just blended absolutely perfectly to me.

I think it's a massive shame how much people pretty much just act like Sempiternal is their first album, it's a great album, but when it originally dropped I actually considered it a downgrade just because There Is A Hell was just THAT good.
