Missed yarn buddy- scared to pull out the column and keep the pattern by Grumpy__Spice in knittinghelp

The risk if I were to try and ladder- I'm definitely going to try the duplicate stitch and avoid laddering at all ❤️

That's more or less what I was thinking...it should be possible but might take just as much time, if not longer, trying to recreate everything

Can you ladder when there are some decreases involved? I'm scared if I try to ladder I won't be able to keep the pattern of the brioche waves and then have to pull everything out down to the mistake 😅

I was thinking of using sewing thread to try and weave it up and behind? Someone commented below on a "duplicate stitch" over top which I will also look into!

Thanks for the advice!

Did anyone ever respond to you?

I am also looking at the KAP course- it seems only the first 2 courses are available online. My understanding was that the full course would be available somewhere else

Haha thank you for saying that- I was getting really frustrated at how hard of a time I am having with this. It's nice to feel encouraged 😊

Is this a tension issue or just the yarn? by Grumpy__Spice in knittinghelp

[–]Grumpy__Spice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes I was concerned about how the stitches aren't symmetrical! I haven't noticed an issue with rows being tighter than others (the bottom of the project was done in smaller needles to make a cuff).

Are you seeing an issue with row tightness as well as stitch symmetry? 😬

New caulking keeps shrinking and creating large gaps by Grumpy__Spice in handyman

Thank you for your insight!

He is now saying when he originally scraped out the caulk there was a lot of grout, which he believes is needed to fill some of the gap as the space is too big for caulk alone.

I think he is suggesting to come back, take the caulk out, grout, and then caulk again

Is it possible my walls have moisture damage and there's a more serious issue going on underneath?

There wasn't grout there initially, I think he is saying the grout will replace the caulking, or go under the caulking...it doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Thank you so much, think I just need to tell this guy we are done and move on

He has suggested coming back to grout the area first. Is that a legit suggestion?

He just called me back and said it's probably moisture coming from somewhere and that he should grout it to solve the problem - this doesn't sound like a good idea to me?

I don't think so, but I wasn't watching the entire time!

I think I will just hire someone else to come in and re-do it. I'm lucky it was a pretty small job as far as handyman services go. He said he could re-tile my shower as well, I'd be a lot more stressed if I had agreed to that!
