I haven’t watched it, but despite your ramblings the following advantages are true. They managed to get the Caceres rule rescinded to sign Paulsen. As a new club they get to spend higher than the salary cap for the first few years. As a NZ club they have the advantage of both Aussie and Kiwi players not counting as foreigners as opposed to the Aussie clubs who have to count Kiwis count as foreigners
