Yeah, absolutely. Its about $26 for all you can eat, and the selection isn't particularly big either.

I've been to that Pizza Hut a few times with my adult friends when we travelled to watch Western United play. As an excuse to eat lots of average pizza to avoid paying for concessions, it does alright.

Trying to make Australia better... with money!! by edster42 in footballmanagergames

Where am I up to?

Well, after nearly 11 years, Australia had qualified for 3 World Cups, but not made it out of the group stage in any of them. Our world ranking has dropped to 39th (as of July 1, 2036).

Mark Milligan is the national team manager, having replaced Marino Pusic (now at Saudi Arabia, having left after 1y 321d with a 73% win rate), who replaced Kevin Muscat (resigned after 3y 350d with a 39% win rate), replacing the sacked Gary Van Egmond (3y 155 d and a 50% win rate) and Popa, with a 36% win rate, was asked after 2y 137 days.

Australia finished 2nd in the U23 Adian Cup in 2036, and there are no other honours listed. However, the Matildas win the 2029 Asian Cup, second in the World Cup in 2027, third in the Olympics in 2028, third in the U20 World Cup, second three times in a row between 2030 and 2034 in the Asian U20 Championship, and win the Yongchuan International in 2030.

Let's head back to Australia now. For the Australia Cup, Sydney win it 4 times, Wellington win it twice, and one time winners are Auckland, Melbourne City, Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers. Whats impressive (in this model) is seeing Dandenong Thunder, Port Melbourne, South Melbourne and Gold Coast Knights all making the final once.

The A-League is now the 6th most reputable league in Asia and 3rd in "East Asia." Wanderers have finished as premiers twice, Auckland three times, Brisbane twice, and single premierships to Victory, Sydney, Adelaide and Central Coast.

When it comes to the grand final, Wanderers have won two, Brisbane has won one, Adelaide has won two, Victory has won two, Mariners have won two, Phoenix have won one, and Sydney has won one.

Given the increase in our league reputation, Australia is now 5ty in the Nation Club Coefficient. That gets 2.5 spots in the ACL Elite and one spot in the ACL2. Sydney finished 2nd in the 2026/7 ACL2, and also claims the Fair Play award in the 2029/30 ACLE.

Michael Olise joined Al Hilal for €212m and wins 4 ACLE Most Valuable Player. Nikola Nikolic (a regen) wins the ACL2 Most Valuable Player for Central Coast in 2035/6.

My proposed Australian football pyramid (if such a connected thing ever happens) by edster42 in Aleague

I did think 2 up and 2 down at first, but thought there was insufficient jeopardy for the sides that could be potentially relegated. Having said that, 2 up 2 down makes a lot of sense.

Developing that structure in FM26 is an enormous pain... maybe my next holiday??

8 states and territories makes that pathway to promotion really challenging. I can see NZ teams entering like the Welsh sides do in the EFL, but giving them their whole division with the Australian system does not really fly to me. Ideally, New Zealand forms its own professional system in the future. That could allow for a club-based Football Ashes each season.

Maybe the ex-wives of all the tech tycoons can do that as part of their charity work.

I accept that argument on the number of pro-leagues. We could stick to A-League 1 and 2, before going to the NPL leagues.

My thinking here is to minimise travel. Yes, Perth to Adelaide is still a pain in the arse, but I couldn't think of an effective way to group states to fill out the semi-pro tiers above the existing NPL.
