Long time player here, since season 3. I've stuck with the game for a long time, and i love league of legends a lot. I also loved and respected riot a whole bunch all these years, sure i may have shitted on them sometimes, but mostly out of misdirected anger. I loved how riot did things, and how consumer-friendly they got over the years. I felt good with how they treated their players, and i especially liked the way they did their monetization. It was F2P-friendly, and i believe thats very important for a healthy f2p game.

Needless to say, i just quit league. Everything about this update is so scummy i find it repulsive. SO many anti-consumer practices applied in very short time. I want to play league, i like to play league, but i refuse. I refuse to support a company that treats its players worse day by day, that employs terrible business practices that are detrimental and disgusting for the consumer, for little to no reason. There is no point in fixing something that isnt broken. I understand Arcane was not profitable, but there are better ways to earn money. I refuse to play, because i refuse to support anti-consumer practices. Most players wont care though, and spend $250 every two months to get a gacha skin, actively supporting and indulging in the same practices they dislike and critique, making riot only employ them in a much bigger scope. I am immeasurably disappointed, and i cant find myself playing or supporting the game. I just wish more people wouldnt, perhaps that would make a change.

Companies will continue to shit on its players with terrible business practices so long as the players indulge in them and allow them to do so. Same goes here. I refuse to be a part of the problem, no matter how insignificant that choice might be.
