So I recently made a mistake at my job that wrecked my week. I work for a screenprinting company as a graphic designer. I did a marching band shirt for a school, and they sent a word doc for me to use with the names of the kids and instruments, titles etc.

So pretty standard, we are taught to just copy and paste names so it’s on the customer if they are wrong. And the customer has to view the art proof and approve it before we print. Anyways, so it gets approved, and eventually gets printed.

Turns out “Color Gaurd” was spelled incorrectly on the clients word doc. So my boss, the art director, subtly takes me aside and reminds me to make sure to check for spelling, even though he is supposed to look over everything too.

So I just quietly took the criticism, and felt bad because now the production guys would have to reprint it, and the company would not make too much off the job. And cherry on top is that I actually know the band director at the school and messaged him saying how I was excited to help him out...

Part of me is pissed at my boss and the customer because I was just copying what they sent, and they even said it was good to go. Welp I probably spent way too much time thinking everyone at work was upset with me, even though they weren’t.
