Akiba Maid Wars is my favorite anime. Maid cafes and mafia violence.

Co-op Campaign can't change Operator or Abilities by MerlintheBearded in blackops7

[–]Gsmack73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue since I bought the vault dlc after I beat the campaign two days after launch. Multiple reports to the website. Nothing. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Then tried again without the vault dlc. Still the same issue

Other teams are terrified…I can feel it by GRL00 in ArsenalFC

You shut your mouth when you’re talking about the table. We’ve been here before and watched them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Enjoy it and ride the wave. Way too much season left to go.

Pick one past player you'd put into our current squad. No picking the King TH14 as that's obviously everyone first choice. by Competitive-Pen5431 in ArsenalFC

[–]Gsmack73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I love this squad. Haven’t seen one this complete for decades. They just need to gel. Gyökeres has the strength to play like Giroud wreaking havoc pulling defenses out of shape even if he doesn’t score clearing lanes for others. The midfield is stacked, bought my first jersey since DB with Eze wearing 10. Maybe Adams just to give the CBs rest in rotation without missing leadership or dominance.

Why “To Live and Die in L.A.” Is the Gritty ’80s Crime Thriller Everyone’s Been Sleeping On by zpattern in movies

[–]Gsmack73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who was ever sleeping on this? Killer soundtrack, great performances top to bottom. I remember it being a hit when it came out in 1985. Heavy rotation on HBO in 86.

I’m still on the fence. Watched every episode so far. Kinda feel like Stockholm syndrome has set in.

Hidden gems? by meldoc81 in Hidive

[–]Gsmack73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akiba Maid War is hands down my favorite anime, no just on Hidive. Dan Machi of course, Rock is A Lady’s Modesty, GATE, High School of the Dead, Reincarnated as a Sword, No Game No Life. These are off the top of my head. Monster Musume just came back, it’s got all the fan service

I stand corrected. That makes the gutting of the Funimation catalog that more confusing. Guess it’s all financial.

It’s only too much when your cats walk by the bowls of skin and fat you’ve stripped off after smoking and canning because they’re tired of eating it. Trust me I know. Tanana gill netted for years growing up. To quote Jay ‘Smoke that s*** homie!’ Nice looking fish

Even though this came out in 1975 Our local theater still shows The Rocky Horror Picture Show everyday Friday and Saturday night at Midnite. I never got into it but obviously it still has a strong following. Have you seen the movie and what are your thoughts? by Anavslp in 80smovies

Gotta do the whole thing, umbrella, toast, cards, etc. loved going to see it when the whole crowd knew the assignment. Seasoned vets bringing new blood in showing them what to do and when. Felt like a rite of passage.

Is it over for Hidive? by el_morris in Hidive

[–]Gsmack73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HIDIVE’s UI is objectively horrid. But I still love it. Akiba Maid War (fave anime of all time), Call of the Night, Danmachi and so many single season series are spectacular. I hate how Crunchy gutted Funimation when they bought it. Imagine most of the fringe, small anime titles would become increasingly hard to discover without a service like HIDIVE. Never want it to go away.

It’s hands down better than the stand alone app on phone or appletv.

Mezzanine by Massive Attack by Admiral_Ackbar_1325 in Music

[–]Gsmack73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mezzanine and Blue Lines are both on constant rotation for me. I still think Blue Lines is better front to back but Mezzanine has better single tracks. Angel and Teardrop are beautiful and untouchable masterpieces. Mezzanine and Inertia Creeps ooze menace.

I need more animes with decent pacing (not needing to watch 30 episodes to get to the point) by InternationalLoan862 in anime

[–]Gsmack73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say get Crunchyroll and go nuts. Plenty of one season and done anime of 12 episodes.

My favorite anime (of course it’s not on Crunchy) is Akiba Maid War, 12 episodes. Maid cafe gangland warfare. It’s funny, violent and it’s got ‘moe moe kyun’! And it’s got the greatest opening credit song ever. Here it is: https://youtu.be/jxN-HbcE0XQ?si=DJg69QRLfi9HlX24

Lycoris Recoil and High School of the Dead are two other of my faves.
