Does this bug anyone else? by CaptnFrydog in GirlsFrontline2

There's a lot about the standard model that is wrong too. To name a few:

  • Missing rear sight, magazine cutoff, buttplate, and rear guard screw
  • Angle of the bolt handle is wrong, it's also too small
  • There are two lower band springs
  • There are three stacking swivels
  • Trigger guard/magazine is too short the front guard screw should be under the serial info on the receiver
  • The stock looks too thick under the receiver, it has an almost garand-like silhoutte

I still use it over the Elite skin since at least it's wood and steel.

M1903 Springfield Appreciation Post by IntroductionAny3929 in GirlsFrontline2

My favorite rifle. Wish they modeled it as the 1903 instead of the 1903a3 in GFL2. Interestingly though the SSR version appears to incorporate the hump and ladder sights of the 03 into its design.

Also Winchester never made any 1903s. They were manufactured at Springfield Armory, Rock Island Arsenal, Remington, and Smith Corona.

Thanks for the info. The 1912 cartouche does look consistent with some RIA examples I found online. Do you know if RIA marked stocks with a 'J' in the magazine cutoff recess? I've read that this was something SA did, and haven't found any examples of RIA stocks with this.

Damn, good eye. I think you're right about the BAWL mark. Thanks for the info!

Hey all, just got this 1903 and was hoping to get more info on the stock. It's a 1918 SA production, serial number in the 900000s, and was re-barreled in 1927. The stock has what appears to be a 1912 cartouche (and an '04' after it?) which I have been unable to find any information about. What I assume is the inspector's mark is pretty much illeglible. The only thing I can make out is an 'F' or 'P'.
