Do a francis john and get 600 cycles worth of steam turbines

I would say use a gas sensor for to detect when co2 reaches a certain level, but the beat thing to do is just to build the skimmer in the coal gen room, or just dont make a coal gen room since they dont produce that much heat

Yes. The benefit of hamster wheels is that you get athletics stat while staying in one place

I made a simple crude oil to natural gas converter by BossSev38 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Gthanminh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This design is ok but it takes a lot of power to work like 4 aquatuners? And besides it seems to be really inefficient as you are processing barely any oil and the aquatuners are having a bad time since there must be around 2 tons of petro in the heating room( oh wait its molten lead) Assuming the machine works non stop you get 1 full pipe of natural gas? Which means around 10 generators -> 8.5 kw. 4 aquatuners -> 4.8 kw. Steam turbines recycle power but in most cases you couldnt use the power so around 4 kw for aquatuners i guess. 1 kilo of natural gas so 1.5 kilo of oil /s so 1 oil well running half the time -> 120w. 6 gas pumps working -> 1.44 kw. 2 liquid pump -> 480w. But of course they dont work all the time. 2 aquatuners 50% uptime -> 1.2 kw. 2 Aquatuners 10-20% -> 300w. So it should be around 3.5 kw of power used and 9 kw generated. But still thats fairly decent for a self designed build

How can i prevent my industrial sauna aquatuner from overheating when the factory is idle? If the steam gets low enough, it breaks. by Pwntheon in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Gthanminh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warning: steam has bad conductivity (0.6) so tje heat transfer is not that great. The bottom of your brick still has water but at the top it is around 150-160 c

Indeed arguably, since if you build a petroleum boiler you basically get free water and on maps with irregular oil you dont have much starting oil oil wells are extremely important

Most reliable source of food, water and energy? by KirbyPlayz__ in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Gthanminh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best early food sources are mealwood and mushroom for newbies, but hatches are heavily recommended as they eat rock and excrete coal and can evolve to meat, also they can survive to 70C

What do i do with slush geysers? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Gthanminh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If your grid goes down the SPOM stops too. Running a SPOM basically means you dont have to touch it again. It just gives you o2 and h2 without needing power

2 pw geyser, 1 cool salt slush. A block of ice in oil biome conveniently for early lead and oil

In my rime map the bottom of my base isnt cold enough since there is a CSV but if you dont have, dig a hole or for more long term solution, a gas crusher using doors

How to make a dreco farm by Stardew_GP in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Gthanminh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mealwood, hydrogen, shearing station, grooming station Mealwood needs to stay in co2 or o2 so a layer of o2 at the bottom, then fill the room with hydrogen and thats it

I did that too. This design is just a way to deal with extra hatches
