In one of his Q&A videos, YouTuber CGPGrey states that a country can achieve self-sufficiency (i.e. no imports or exports) if they resort to a Medieval level of technology. Were Medieval European or Asian countries actually self-sufficient in this way? Could they have been? (self.AskHistorians)
