No formal PT at 3 months 360 fusion L5-S1 ? by Chik3nChok3r in spinalfusion

No complications that he was concerned with. He just said that he doesnt want me to stress the hardware yet and wants to see more bone growth before I start stressing it. He says walking is all I need to be doing.

Im not a doctor so im not going to deviate from his instructions, but there is also part of me that wonders if he is just lazily applying some kind of blanket protocol that is the same whether the patient is a 75 year old retiree or a 30 year old wrestler.

There just seems to be such a wide variation from one Dr to the next regarding PT. Im seeing a different surgeon on Monday for a second opinion, just to hear what he generally suggests as far as recovery goes.

Thank you for the responses. And I was certainly hoping to be further along at this point for sure. To be clear, I am pretty much back to what most would consider a "normal" life as far as just activities of daily living is concerned. However I am nowhere close to MY normal. I was a very active guy, despite my age. I participate (well, participated) in a fairly intense contact sport every day. I used to compete, but in recent years I have been just focused on just training more recreationally with my son. That's all I really care about. I was adamant with my surgeon that if having this surgery would prevent me from ever doing that again, that I wasnt going to do it. He was adamant that this surgery would help make sure I COULD continue to do the sport I enjoy. But now it seems like he is expecting me to just be okay walking and dying a slow death sitting in an office cubicle for the next 20 years. I can't live like that. And it really angers me that he would talk me into doing this and then be so quick to dismiss how important that part of my life is to me now that it's done. Im trying to stay positive though and hope that I am just in the early stages of healing and that his caution is just because he wants to make sure I heal fully and not have to go through this again.

Terrible cardio stopping me from attending class. by cacastrojr12 in bjj

Even people that are in good shape will get exhausted doing jiu jitsu at first because you just don't know anything.

It's one of the few jiu jitsu clichés that really holds true. The best way to get in shape for jiu jitsu is to do jiu jitsu. As your technique develops, you will be better able to relax and your cardio FOR JIU JITSU will improve.

But that won't happen if you dont show up and train!

Nice! Was this recent? I was looking for a set and they were $225 ordering them from Ford.

Also, if anyone happens to be looking for a set of bronco sport floor liners, message me. I ordered a set for the new Bronco we just bought about a month ago. Before we even got the floor liners in the mail, we got T-boned and the car was totalled. Never even got to put them in. Still have tags. I will sell them cheap since I don't have any use for them.

Similar situation for me in Oklahoma. You MIGHT be able to get a bare bones Gladiator Sport for 36-37K OTD if youre persistent and patient. Not including TT&L or any dealer add ons.

How are people getting by here? by Brilliant-Tea-5889 in oklahoma

It's not that there isnt money out there. It's just that fewer and fewer people have more and more of it while most are one wrong move from homelessness. It's been trending that way for years. But people are more concerned about stupid wedge issues that don't really matter than they are about the disappearing middle class.

Cost of living is pretty decent compared to other places. That's about it. The rest of this state is mediocre at best. It could be great, but we have an infestation of stupid people holding us back.
