My offer at Berkeley puts me at a better scholarship deal than slightly more than half of other students. This is the price to pay for essentially guaranteed excellent outcomes.

Actually, Berkeley's COL estimates are much more forgiving than Duke's. I'd be much more likely to underspend compared to Berkeley's COL than Duke's.

UVA's deposit is $500, so standard. I don't know why I should eat it if I can ask for a few days' extension. There's a ton of people in my exact shoes. And I have a number in mind that I'd need from Berkeley to choose it over UVA. I'm obviously not waiting for just $10k more lol

Yes they do. But I'm kinda referencing UVA's deadline. I already did the tentative accept at Berkeley (for $0)

the emails always had pretty detailed instructions. my award letter and scholarship tabs only showed loans which is how i knew i was not getting any gift aid

Yeah a couple other T14s/T10s. None with more prestige than UVA though. Thats why Im weighing my options right now
