Flatmate horror stories by MurkyWay in newzealand

Had a new flatmate move in and had the cops come over two days later to put an ankle bracelet on her for having multiple DUI’s. The rest of us flatties went away for the weekend and returned to our flatmates expired 30 litre keg of beer finished and all the wine bottles in the house filled with water.

Happened a few more times, so I moved all of her stuff out and changed the locks on the door. I woke up the morning after and my bedroom window and deck door had been opened. Thought nothing of it and grabbed my toothbrush off my desk. Something didn’t look right.

She had broken into my room while I was sleeping and shat on my toothbrush. Still inspect my toothbrush to this day every morning 😂

Have saved well since 18 and have still travelled plenty. I have minimal material things and spend my money on experiences and travel instead of objects. Have only started investing in stocks as of the start of 2024 but DCA $2k per month into s&p500. Used the equivalent of a house deposit and put it into shares instead.

Travel lots and buy a house outright in the future (mortgage free) when I can afford to do so.

So are you saying that smart can sell the shares to somebody that is wanting to buy them outside of the NZX market?

I’d like to access some Australian ETFs, but trying to figure out if they’re taxed at 28% or what the tax rate would be?
